Anyone playing this? Not sure on the value. €200 rebuy with 2K starting stack.
Seems like you'd need a few rebuys.

    What time does it start?

It's absolutely fcukin ridiculous IMO. There is no value what so ever , maybe there is for some scandie to come and try and win a 3.5 k seat after probably winning 1 online for a tenner and he doesnt give a fcuk about the genuine people trying to win a seat.
Maybe it's something that you could look at for next year Noel?????

I agree Damo but as I am working late shift all week and can just get a swap for Thursday this is last chance saloon for me.I would have prefered s.e 2night should be better value. The only value u get from the super sat is if u have some crazy fcuks hammering the rebuys apart from that it's **** but they always are be it ept,io, deepstack etc.good luck 2u and dim whatever u decide

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,070 ✭✭✭Ollieboy

these sats are not about value. There about creating as big a prize pool as quickly as possible to generate tickets for the main event. You have the next 4 days in the main event to have value. I would far rather play a crapshoot for a ticket than play for 15 hours and still bubble it or win a ticket and than have to play a 4 day event the next day. There is still a large degree of skill in these structures, ie pushing all-in and picking your spot against tight players.

    Of course luck helps.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 165 ✭✭baz2007

More than likely sat/crapshoot will go on til 4/5 am so u will be back ready 2 go for 2 on Friday.deepstack sat went on til nearly six and main event started at 2pm next day.I would not be 2 bothered if I picked up a tk.I just saw super sat is starting at six so should be over reasonably early.

Just wondering when you say "value", do you mean value for money?

supersatt will finish about 3 at the latest, this is a good chance to win entry imo but don't do what Paul Smallwood did last year and blow €2800 in it. give yourself a budget for it and stick to that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 165 ✭✭baz2007

That's were the value will be twenty Paul smalls lashing the rebuys out of it.and u sneaking in the back door for a tk with 1buy in and a top up.ah nicky nice not 2 have 2 worry about sats anymore fair play.

No, THIS ^^^ is "fcukin ridiculous".
The point of the super sat is to generate as many tickets as possible in the shortest space of time. It's not meant to be an hr long clock and a 10k stack with all levels.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,448 ✭✭✭Lazare

I'm gonna play this. Hit the crossbar three times this qualifying campaign, if I don't win a ticket on Thurs night I'm gonna stab a penguin.

    lol..

on subject of super satt it does what its ment to, generates lots tickets!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,924 ✭✭✭Fatboydim

Penguin stabbing is obviously the new clown punching.:D

The 2k starting stack is so meager. But number of tickets generated may make it worth while. Agree with Nic you have to have a budget and stick to it. I have to come down anyway so I'll sus it out on the day I think. It is at CityWest isn't it? 6.00pm

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 482 ✭✭oneillMan999

well, it is what it is, but its really only for people who can afford around 1k and dont mind a crapshoot to basically treble their money...be better jus throwin £500 into a draw for a ticket..its the same thing anyway...

I certainly wont be playin this...its a joke really, my advice...put 1000 euros on a 2/1 shot horse thursday and play the irish open if it comes in ;)

    I think I need more of an 8 /1 shot. Any tips?:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,317 ✭✭✭The Clamper

    how about a complete crapshoot

get 35 players to each hand over €100 and give them a number between 1/35, then spin the roulette wheel, whichever number comes up, you have a winner

players could of course buy 2 or even 3 numbers for €100 each, increasing their odds substancially

    or

we sell tickets for a raffle, at a tenner each, players could buy as many as they like, once we sell 350, we draw for a seat

probably the only way some people would ever win one, myself included

Thanks for stating the obvious Adam .
Nobody's looking for an hour clock or 10k stack, just something better than €200 for 2k .
Whats the point rebuying another 2k and sit there short stacked against some idiot who has maybe qualified online for a tenner and doesnt give a fcuk what he call's you with.
Im happy for you if you can afford to do this , but i sure as hell cant afford it . I wouldn't mind spending maybe €600 for say 2k/4k/8k but not for 2k/2k/2k ahh fuk it 2k/2k how the fuk can you call with that sh1t ya stupid fcukin donkey cnut 2k2k , holy fcuk when is the break coming so i can get 4k to give to this cnut, ahh fuk it im fukin broke now :mad::eek::(

Wierd Ive been thinking for years you want them to call with ****e. And if hes already qualified for a tenner and wants to spunk a grand into the satty thats great news.

Finally there is huge skill in playing short stack poker when the whole field is short and a 1 prize situation.

It's fair enough if you don't like the structure, your definitely better off playing a different satelite if your not used to this type.

For what is needed though, the structure is suitable in my opin.

How are people not understanding that this sentence is exactly what you want to be happening?

They need 17.5 rebuys to make 1 ticket, obv the stacks are gonna be shallow.

ANYONE INTERESTED IN A 350 F/O Tomorrow night
make a list here and if there are 20+, i will organise it

lets look at a 8k stack, 20 minute blinds, starting at 8pm
    1k early bird chip

    2k multi rebuy ?

jesus, can anyone advise me please on the strategy here, or is it a case of rebuy rebuy all in, rebuy all in, rebuy all in, rebuy all in, rebuy all in
until i hit a hand and get a double or treble up, which allows actual play

hints please, i need all the help i can get, obv

Realistically Andrew , I would just rather play something like the clamper just posted, even with a rebuy of €200 for say another 10k it will probably end up with the same amount of chips in play and create a similar amount of tickets while actually getting to play a bit of poker along the way .After all it is about poker and not bingo . Just my opinion.

No, this is wrong in relation to the final supersat. As I have said already,The final supersat is about generating as many tickets as possible, as quickly as possible. And if there are 6 scandis at your table and theyre allin every hand, then good for you, I don't see how you could complain about this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,802 ✭✭✭DAMO72

What would be wrong with PP doin something like this for a €200 rebuy super sat. It would run off in about 7 hours.
    Chips
    Starting Chips 3,500
    Re-buy and Add-on 5,000

LEVEL DURATION SMALL BLIND BIG BLIND ANTE

    01 15 Minutes 25 50 0
    02 15 Minutes 50 100 0
    03 15 Minutes 75 150 0
    04 15 Minutes 100 200 0
    05 15 Minutes 150 300 0
BREAK 20 MINUTES ADD-ON GIVEN (FREEZOUT)
    06 18 Minutes 150 300 25
    07 18 Minutes 200 400 25
    08 18 Minutes 300 600 50
    09 18 Minutes 400 800 50
BREAK 15 MINUTES REMOVING 25 CHIPS (CHIP RACE)
    10 18 Minutes 500 1000 100

Played this last year. It was €330 ( €4500 tickets)plus €300 unlimited rebuys. I went with a €630 budget but at the time I thought it was 1 rebuy or topup. Lot of money no object guys gambling and pushing players out of hands mainly preflop. Losing again then double rebuying. Crazy waste of money. If you are a good player you are better off playing €2/€5 cash table on Thursday with €1000 and trying to win the buy in.
I'm not disaggreeing with the structure, I understand Adam's point about generating as many tickets in a short space of time but I am saying that there is much better ways for a skilled player to win a ticket.

I don't agree with the guy who said he would much rather this structure than playing for hours at a normal pace only to bubble at 7 in the morning.

It's like saying that you know you're at a disadvantage against most players so you would rather just play a more gambling style where luck plays a bigger part than skill.

    See you there:D

    Supersats are for luckbox gamblers..lol
I`ll be selling swigs of lourdes holy water at €35 a shot and i`ll garuntee yall get a ticket(not sayin a ticket for wha though)
These supersats are no value but run to generate tickets for d main event which if your lucky enough to be on the table wit the 6 mad scandies and when you get a big hand to hold and 6tuple up (or whatever the word is) and cruise through the sat yall think der d bomb:)

Enough of the complaining about the structure of the super sat - There have been loads of sat tournaments with long clock/ deep stack over the past few months. You should have played in them rather than complaining now that the super sat is bad value. It is what it is.

Playing a STT with 7 mates for a ticket this afternoon. Dying to be playing tomoro^^^

Yes if you live in Dublin.

The supersat could have a more playable structure IMHO. It would still generate tickets. But it is what it is.

Well I'm only going on what they said on their Open Blog

" I’ll be running the media tournament later this evening but hopefully will be able to track the Super Satellite and keep up with some of the action!"

Don't think so, I'd only be teasing myself.

Might go if any of the locals are at the business end of things. Going to play the Woodlands / Ladbrokes tomorrow.

67 tickets, not a bad evenings work tbf.

Not bad at all. Well done.

Just speaking to my brother at the break. Blinds going to 400/800/50. Average stack about 10BB (8k). 300+ left. He said it wasn't as mad as he expected, lots of people topped up to 4k immediately and not to much 'scandie all-in madness'.

Good luck to everyone left in getting a ticket (especially the bro :D)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,307 ✭✭✭ionapaul

Now down to 144 players and currently on break. Average stack is 21,500, blinds will be 1k/2k with 200 ante when the break is over.

Sorry to those who hoped for decent coverage on the blog - that starts tomorrow at 2pm.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,854 ✭✭✭rx8

Blinds now at 1500/3000 (300ante), 97 players left.

    Average is 32 K

    Smurph on circa. 70 K..........
