At the moment training is going well, but looking to lose the last few pounds. I have some questions about it though.

How low carb do you go? Should i go as far as replacing porridge with 3 eggs? I won't be having bread or potatoes or pasta, and can go without rice for a few weeks. But i am worried about cutting out fresh veg like brocolli, peas, green beans etc. If i doing this properly what should i do here. And should i assign a limit of x grams of carbs a day?

Would a bowl of porridge and 3 eggs not have roughly the same amount of calories?

Calories aren't what i'm interested in. Trying to get rid of that last few inches, and from what i read, low-carbing is the way to go

I think how low carb you go is dependant on where you are now and where you want to be, i.e. you'll need to go a hell of a lot lowere to go from 8%BF to 4% than go from 20%BF to 16%BF.

Low carb is definatly the way to go, from my own experience. Once you get used to it its not that hard. Look up the paleo diet as well.

Well i'm looking to go from about 15% to 10 or below. On the diet i've made up i'd be getting around 40grams, all from nuts and vegetables. Too high?

I wouldn't think its too high, but it also depends on the source of the carbs. There are people on this board far more qualified to answer this than me. As a general rule though, make sure none of the carbs are coming from refined sources; breads, sugar etc. except PWO.

When ppl talk about low carb diets generally vegetables are still allowed, as are most fruits for many reasons eg so fibrous, so low GI etc... Therefore eat as many vegetables and to a degree fruit as you want.

Probably best to keep the fruit intake around workout time and in the mornings due to the natural sugars. 40 grams of carbs a day is fine no need to go lower than that really.should probably be taking in more than that post workout alone if your doin alot of strength training.

As for morning time id say go with the porridge as well as some [protein obviously. Carbs in the morning are used if im right to refill depleted liver glycogen and are nearly impoosible to convrt to fat. so the one time of the day on a diet like this when starchy carbs are okay is breakfast. Hope this helped!

Keeping lower than 50grams a day works great for me but after a week or two i start to really fall off the wagon badly...:pac:

Careful of fruits. Ya don't want a load of sugary carbohydrates while you're low carbing now do ya.

Eat meats and greens, proper greens like broccoli and cauliflour.
