    hey there

Ive decided to start going to the gym, not too sure if Im posting in the correcet section so please feel free to move.

Basically my main question is what should I be eating before I go to the gym. My daily shift consists of going to work in the afternoon, finishing up at 02:30. Having dinner usually around 7-8pm which usually consists of Pasta and mince or chicken and pasts(such a wide variety I know :P) Is this mean substantial enough. Usually I wouldnt eat until morning then.

Im just wondering what should I have before I go to the gym in the mornings before I go to work, usually its just corn flakes and toast(brown), should I be adding more to this or having something different and should I have something when im finished?

    Thanks in advance :)

The general rule is some carbs before the gym for energy, some carbs and protein after the gym for recovery.

I'll eat whatever main meal 2-3 hours before the gym and maybe a piece of fruit an hour beforehand (any closer to gym time and I tend to feel sluggish). It's really down to whatever works for you though.

What are you doing in the gym?

well i went to the gym this morning and just in work now, arms and legs could be a bit better :P

Before I went to the gym i just had a banana and bottle of water then after i had bowl of corn flakes and two slices of toast, brown again. For dinner ill be having chicken and pasta. Do you think I should have more fruit during the day and perhaps something more before I go to the gym. I wasnt even hungry when I was working out.

All I did today was 20min on the bikes, 10min on the cross trainer and then another 20min of the bike and 5-10min of stretching. Perhaps someone could give me a few more tips what to do. I dont want to do alot as I havent worked out in years and I know when I wake up in the morning my bones are going to be killing me.
