Hi Im just wondering if somebody who really knows their squatting can help me with this one.
I've been squating for a while now and my form is ok but over the last few months my calve muscles have been tightening up the day after I've squated. I do a fair amount of running aswell so the tight calves are making life difficult at the moment.
Any ideas? Any form pointers that may resolve this issue?

Note: I already do squats flat footed(stocking feet) so thats not the problem.

    Any help is very appreciated
    Thanks

When you squat do you make sure you sit back into it? Also do you push through your heels when coming up not through the balls of your feet?

I think you could be onto something and I really try to do this but what Ive noticed lately is when I try to push up through my heels the front part of my feet come up off the floor. Is this a problem?

At what point does it happen?

Is it at the very bottom or is it at any particular point in the movement?

Sounds like you are suffering with a bit of inflexibility. Make sure you warm up well beforehand and implement a routine of stretching post workout.

    Hi,

I had same problem few months ago but I got rid of it by doing so hamstring streches and plain squats with no weigths before you go on the barbell.

    Hope that helps.
