Well we got Show v Cena tonight which will hopefully be better than their match a few weeks ago. Jericho vs The King which will be dreadful and an 18 diva tag match which will be toilet. I assume we will get some JBL v Rey interaction to get some energy into their feud and Hunter will attempt to avenge his wife to whet our appetite for his victory on sunday. :(
Its 2am tonight folks as well.

a certain amount of negativity there... haha

To be honest, its been said, i definitely feel wwe could have benefited from having WM two weeks ago. The storylines have peaked. Especially the randy hhh story.

The promos should be good anyway. I just hope they don't mention Mickey Rourke again. It's getting old at this stage.

Maybe we will get to listen to striker instead, you know cole the word diva is the feminine of the latin word divus meaning god...........

Wow, another week, another HHH bash. I'd like to say words fail me, but really, it's so routine at this stage that i've come to expect it.

But when HHH puts Orton over on Sunday (and he will), i'll fall off my chair laughing, and not because i had the entire bottle of Jack Daniels (and let's face it, i'll need all the alcohol i can get my hands on to stomach that stinker of a card on Sunday ;) ).

Did anyone notice a WWE staff guy jump the barricade during the Cena match go over to the guy with the "I'm surrounded by marks" sign? I think he confiscated it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,206 ✭✭✭✭Rjd2

Cena loses cleanly again in a glorified squash match,so by WWE logic the title is in the bag for sunday:pac: I have a little more hope for Orton now with the thought that Cena will win his match. Cena winning means fans go happy no matter what so Orton the heel has a very small chance....:)
I wonder who is in the casket HBK?

Surely Steph or the other McMahons can cancel out all her decisions

Didn't see raw live but from reading reports my initial reaction is that i cannot believe this is the go home show to what is supposed to be the biggest wrestling event ever.

Rey going over, yet another multiple person match with the MITB participants, and a main event ending segment that didn't as such move the story forward rather kept it in the exact same place.

Because Vickie generates more heel heat than Shane, Stephanie or Linda ever could.

who was the last guy to pin/beat HHH cleanly with their trademark finishing move on tv

It wasn't as bad as last weeks RAW, but it wasn't particularly good either.

It wasn't as bad as last weeks RAW, but it wasn't particularly good either.

Most people thought last week's was very good though. I'd be among them.

Bryan Alvarez and Meltzer hit on an interesting topic during the Observer radio show from last night- that the various feuds for Wrestlemania have all peaked at different times, and that's one of the reason the card looks so uninspiring. I think they're right... Hardy/Hardy peaked probably after the Rumble- the triple threat, possibly the weak of Cena's security video, and Jericho was arguably sometime last month. Interesting anyways, and it shows the damage of lack of long-term planning.
HHH/Orton peaked last weak for me- but i didn't think this week's segment was bad at all (pretty good actually), it just didn't make much sense when you start to dissect the whole feud. I think they really regret the whole deal with HHH not touching Orton till Mania, and the way they started the angle once Hunter got involved.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,206 ✭✭✭✭Rjd2

I still think if they had gone with HHH v Edge and Orton v Cena we would have got an overall better main event, but heh the internet expected that and Vince loves to swerve us:rolleyes:

Does it really matter if a finisher is used?! This is exactly what annoys me about nitpicking HHHaters.

    If he doesn't put anyone over, he's a c*nt.
If he does put someone over, he gets bitched at because of how it was done.

    Meh, boring.

I also find the HHH hate very annoying.

He's a great wrestler, he's a great talker, he gets over with the crowd. Move on people.

of course it matters, its the difference between looking strong or lucky

pinning someone with a roll-up makes you look lucky, pinning someone after first getting hit with 2 chairshots doesn't make you look strong either

the correct answer to this question is john cena 3 years ago, thats the last time he allowed anyone go over him strong

HHH is god. Okay maybe not god but he's not the devil either like some people make out. He is a top superstar and it really isn't important how tv mathces end.

As far as problems with raw go i thnik part of the problems we have seen on tv and the build up to mania is the writers and fans expectations are so high. TWriters have forgotten how to build a match up over time when there is no PPV match in 3/4 weeks. Fans are also unused to this so we don't like it when we get guys wrestling each other outside the ppv match (JBL v Rey). These things are worse during build up to mania when it is the most importnt part of the year.

I did enjoy the battle royal brief as it was. HBK taker segment was good. Its great to see the old Cheeky HBK back. HHH turning up with the mcmahons was good too.

I have two questions, did Randy kick Vince in the head before or after the rumble, i can't recall
Secondly is it likely that the fans are going to end up cheering for randy and legacy?

Talk about blending Gail Kim straight into the crowd.

Ha yea , They should of had her do a quick promo after she attacked maryse/mc cool saying she is back and will be ms WM blah blah so people know she is back etc. I thought that was Kelly Kelly who won that diva match but it was obviously some other person

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,943 ✭✭✭Machismo Fan

Gail Kim's first match back is a meaningless tag match where she doesn't even get tagged in, add that to being introduced with 8 other Divas most of whom are poor at best = Her just blending into the background and not standing out in the way that she can.

I'm equally as appalled by how they've treated her since she was re-signed. Considering her potential value, it's really, really dumb, and potentially short-sighted. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.....

    Retroactive booking

Orton's been on the verge of being a massive face for a good while now. They keep having him do more heelish stuff but it seems like that will just help him as a face if they do a double turn with him and HHH at some point. That's what I want to see

Little crowd reaction on her return to Smackdown. The kids don't know who she is. Both these facts means she has to be built up like any new or newly returned talent.

Kane lovers please dont cry now
It's been reported that several WWE backstage sources have stated that Kane may have around one year left in the ring. According to these sources, he's feeling much pain after each of his matches. In addition, this pain remains for longer than the normal period of time. One of the sources added, that Kane's main concern is to keep on performing at a high level rather than being involved in important storylines at this stage of his career.

I disagree. There's no way she should be "built up" as a new talent. Even if she should have been- the way in which she has been re-introduced is no way whatsoever to do this. It's counter-productive booking.

They should have made a really big deal about her re-signing, and maybe done a sit-down interview. If they had have made her out to be important, it would certainly have increased the chance of her being percieved as such by "the kids".

Wasn't her appearance on Smackdown, randomly in a tag match as well? Who the **** cares about anyone appearing in those matches?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,594 ✭✭✭Fozzy

Are performing at a high level and being involved in important storylines mutually exclusive? I wouldn't read anything into that report

Although it may be a rewrite of an Observer paragraph that I missed :pac:

When the turn happens i'd be up for it. Its like stone cold, the worse he is the better he gets. I wonder if using the mcmahons was part of this. If they had him beating up kelly kelly for instance you wouildn't be able to take it so well, but beating on Steph, well its is bad but you almost welcome it.

People were saying the same thing about Christian. He built himself up on ECW with the newer members of the audience and so is a legitimate competitor in MITB with all the fans new and old.

She may well yet win Miss Wrestlemania who knows. She was only put on Raw in that match to make up the numbers. The whole point of the match seems to have been Santino's little dance and promotion of the Battle Royal.

If people cared about her they would of made a noise for her showing up unexpectedly at that Smackdown match. Most didn't even know who she was. She'll have to do what Christian did and get the newer fans onside with her, after that she can go after a title. It doesn't have to take that long.

But that's my whole point- people should have known who she is, however, the company did nothing to re-inforce that. They could have showed some quality footage of her previous run, and had the announcers talk about, do an interview- have someone cut a promo. why on earth would you not attempt to bring someone back with some fanfare ? Why would you not attempt to kick start this idea of newer fans getting "onside with her" by giving them a reason too?
There's no way that bringing in one of the most talented female workers in the country to "make up the numbers" is acceptable.
It doesn't matter if she wins the worthless battle royal, or women's title- she needs to be an accepted on her own merits, and could well have been, without a prop. The women's title is piece of junk, winning in isn't an achievement in itself.

And that is the problem, someone who just debuted and is arguably the best womens wrestler in America was used to make up the numbers and was in no way acknowledged at all.

Id say wwe just re-hired her to steal her from TNA like they did with Christian. Offer them a better deal than TNA but then dont give a crap about them once they sign on the dotted line.
