    Butthead.

There's an episode of Beavis and Butthead where Butthead leaves Beavis waiting at the back of a shop. Butthead went home.
You then see Beavis calling his name as if he were a dog.

I've always said that if I ever get a dog, I would call it Butthead.

I have tried numerous times to get others to name their new dogs Butthead, but they wouldn't go for it.

It all depends on what kind of dog it is. Like you couldn't call a shihtzu 'Butch' or an alsation 'pepe':).

depends on the dog, you dont want to be calling a little dog with a big dogs name
i think a good name is echo, sometimes when your calling a dog it fells like you talking to yourself as you have to repeat yourself at least twice.

Give it some really interesting name that'll turn heads when you call its name like "Raper" or "Fiddler". Maybe "Knuckles" or "Tormentor". How about "Spunk". Always good to start up a random conversation in the park.

How about utilising this as an opportunity to further your business interests?

    For example, "Refreshing Coca Cola".

Actually "Coca Cola" would be a pretty cool name for a dog.

We took in a stray many years ago. After dinner my ma says "would anyone like a piece of cake". The dog ran over. Hence the dog was called "piece of cake". Nice dog, very friendly.

Annnnnnnnd on to another story of yore. I used to live in Australia and one of the jobs I had was selling tickets for the Olympics over the phone. When you spoke to people they were delighted to speak to you as you had something they wanted, and they had been waiting on the phone for about an hour to speak to you. So, when they eventually got through they were in great mood. As you were putting through their request for tickets they'd talk any old sh!te to you. During one of these conversations I found out the name I would one day call my dog. It might be a name that's been used many times, but though it was dead cool. Zeus.
One day I will own a boxer called Zeus.

Father Dougal McGuire: I've got one. You see how he's got big floppy ears flopping all over the place?
Well why don't we call him Father Jack Hackett
Father Ted Crilly: Perfect. 'Father Jack' it is.
    Father Jack Hackett: WHAT?
Father Ted Crilly: Oh nothing Father. Dougals just named his rabbit after you.
    Father Jack Hackett: WHAT?
Father Dougal McGuire: Are you alright 'Father Jack'?
    Father Jack Hackett: WHAT?
Father Ted Crilly: He's not talking to you. He's talking to the rabbit.
    Father Jack Hackett: WHAT?
Father Dougal McGuire: I think 'Father Jack' needs a Drink.
    Father Jack Hackett: DRINK DRINK!
Father Ted Crilly: Lets give him water.
    Father Jack Hackett: WATER? ****!
Father Ted Crilly: It's getting far to confusing.
Father Dougal McGuire: I've gotten use to calling him 'Father Jack'. Cant we call Father Jack something else?
Father Ted Crilly: Alright then 'Flipper', 'Flipper the priest'
    Father Jack Hackett: YES!

Clever that...Greek God names would suit big dogs, like Apollo (I'd keep thinking of Apollo Creed from Rocky though) Hera would be nice for a bitch.

I was going to suggest Harney or Cowen - but everyone would then want to give the poor thing a good kicking.
Can't be that cruel to the mutt.

Call it "Kunter" - then picture yourself shouting in the street calling it home!

"Here Kunts - come on Kunts - get your din dins Kunts!"

What breed of dog, are you buying it from a breeder. Is it a rescue, or from a mate?.

Depending on the breed there are some great names out there.

    .

We used to have a dog called Scamp (RIP) when I was a kid. Brought her on a sponsored dog walk in Phoenix Park one time and the majority of the other dogs we saw there had the same name. :pac:

I think were I to name a dog anytime soon I'd probably name him/her after one of my favourite musicians or film characters or something. Morrissey or Alvy or something.
