new clothes - feeling fat

I got new clothes on the internet and I'm really not sure about them but it may be because I bought dresses(which I was lacking), I normally wear jeans.

If I'm honest I just feel fat in them. I'm 5'4" and a little over 11 stone. It might be that I just feel more comfortable in jeans and a tshirt.

I don't know if it's me being too self-conscious, me not looking good in them or me just being surprised because I just realised I gained some weight.

One thing's for sure, I shouldn't have gone to the chinese with my friend last night.

    Hey OP,

Its probably just you arent used to wearing dresses. I also think the measurements in dresses are different to those in jeans..I could be wrong.

If you want to trim up nows a good time to do it though, the weathers better, its brighter for longer and of course the LL has a thread for moral support :p

You might just be having a fat day. It's like a bad hair day, only for your body.

I could put the exact same outfit on two Friday nights in a row - I'd think I look AMAZING in it the first week, and then take it off the next week because I think I look like a heifer.

    Give the dresses a chance!

Wear heels. Sometimes some dresses dont work so well with flats.

And seconding the fat day thing. I get that too.

Thanks for the really quick replies

This is one, the one I was most excited about but it has alot of material on the skirt part. I think I might keep it and if it still looks like it has too much material in my aunt is brilliant with a sewing machine.

This is another, which I'm wearing now to see can I get used to it.

The third is alright, just needs a belt with it but it's also plain black.

    I HATE that feeling!

It might just be that the cut doesn't suit your shape.
I can never "borrow" my sisters dresses, because she is pear shaped with a lovely waist and I'm broad on top and waistless. So they focus on my bad aeras and cover up my good. Making me look like a heffalump.

Honestly unless you really think it is your weight, and they were really gorgeous. I would send them back.
Clothes are never going to look well on you, if they make you feel self conscious.

If you are used to wearing jean the you will hold your posture in a lot more then when you
are wearing a dress. Wearing heels with a dress changes your posture and you will automatically hold a different posture.

Yes and some days we just have feeling fat days.

After trying on my favourite black dress, I think it's a fat day. Oddly enough it's my bottom half that looks fat, the dresses are a size 14 I'm wearing jeans now that are a size 12 and I need a belt with them.

I need a 14 for my bust, I need a 36F bra so they need their space. Normally (someone elses words) "they make your belly look flat". Today I found my thighs looked too chunky, I guess that's too much sitting on my ass.

As for the weight I think I will try lose some, might even kill two birds with one stone and ask a guy I'm starting to like to go hill walking with me.

With those dresses consider sky high wedges?
