Small question but out of curiosity what milk do people go with (for building muscle etc.)?

Is Super Milk really all that super or is it just a scam to make more money at no real return to the drinker? Is it better to go with low fat milk than full fat (I'm assuming it is but worth asking!)

    Thanks.

If you're bulking rather than cutting, I would assume full fat would be first choice.

Supermilk is a low fat milk with added vitamins. Probably cheaper to buy a vitamin pill and low fat milk separately. Many presume it is just extra vitamins and do not realise it is low fat.

I think I heard of farmers feeding pigs skim milk as it makes them actually put on fat. Not sure about that but I know calcium in milk is meant to cause you do "pass" other fats and possibly milk fat (i.e. it passes through your system undigested). I know you can get small bottle of milk calcium supplements for weight loss in supermarkets, but they do not tell the reason how it causes fat loss (as the squeamish would not buy it!).

I think the processing that low fat or skim milk goes through might alter the effects of this calcium and this is the supposed reason why skim milk could make you fatter than whole milk. Dunno if this applies to humans, but as I said in many other threads calories are not calculated using humans, 1000kcal of sugar will probably make you fatter than 1000kcal of nuts or booze.

Skimmed milk is what you get after the cream is taken out to be sold separately. Its fed to calves, pigs, etc because its a waste product and can't all be used up by human consumption (or can be but people don't want to). Its fed to pigs to put on weight but only in the same way as any other feed. However, afaik skimmed milk has more carbs than full fat, plus there's nothing inherently wrong with the fat in whole milk, provided there isn't too much in your diet as a whole, so its up to you OP.

    Thanks for that.

What kind of quantity would people tend to consume on a daily basis anyway? I've seen people talk about herculean consumption of eggs so is it the same for milk?

Start with a litre and work up? There's no real hard and fast rules, even if the 20 squats plan does demand a gallon of milk a day.

I usually drink about 3 litres of full fat milk a day. It's great because per litre: 33g protein, 48g carbohydrates 35g fat and 640 cals. It can make getting your daily needs very easy!

Super Milk is just more expensive.

Is it a good idea to drink lots of milk about say 1 litre a day if you trying to lose body fat?
