Best diet for maintaining energy levels?

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but figured you guys would know something about diets and eating right.

Problem:A bit of background: So, I'm currently applying for grad jobs in Australia, specifically in management consulting. I'm interviewing with three firms, and just found out I got through to the 2nd round with two of them. Problem is, they're both scheduled for Friday, as is my 1st round interview with the other firm! So I'll have about 5-6 hrs of interviews in one day. I don't know if any of you know about management consulting, but the interviews are really intense, and you have to solve a whole load of problems while some scary dude in a suit quizzes you and tries to put you off.

Question:Anyway, I'm really worried that I'm going to be completely wiped as the day goes on, and won't put in my best performance. So, my question is, what should I eat/ do to make sure my energy/ concentration levels are steady throughout the day? I'm thinking avoiding sugar is a good idea, and snacking on nuts etc will help too. Any more advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry this is so long, thanks in advance

I'd say a big bowl of porridge in the morning, and maybe bring pasta and chicken with you in a lunch box for later. Few cups of coffee as the day goes on and you should be grand! Nuts are probably a good idea alright seeing as they are so high in calories, and maybe bananas as well.
I'm sure there will be some better responses as I'm no expert, but best of luck anyway!

As above, I am by no mean an expert, but I've had both porridge and bananas recommended to me for energy literally hundreds of times. porridge/oats as a good solid start to the day at breakfast, kickstart the metabolism, wake you up etc. As for the bananas (I may be completely wrong here) but I've heard they're a good source of "slow-release" carbohydrates (if such a thing actually exists, again I'm no expert this is all just anecdotal).

Best of luck with interviews, man, sounds grueling but you give the impression of a hard worker so I'd say you'll nail it.

Yup, a nice carb base with lots of coffee through the day will be perfect for that 1 day where you need bounce off the wall energy and alertness all day. x.gif

Just a word of caution, if you think you might be nervous or are usually the nervous type, eating foods like bananas which take a while to digest could cause some......regurgitation lets say
