rabbits have no season as there classed as vermin ,but for many including me they are the back bone of hunting in ireland .
i would give them total respect as a quarry .
where needs be i would shoot them hard .
but i would have 4-6 in on the lawn every morning and enjoy looking at them over a coffee .

Went out this morning but the clock change messed me up a bit.
Parked up the car at the entrance to the field and got geared up. I was nervous about the dog as this would have been his first time out after bunnys. He seemed eager, sniffing every bolt hole as we walked down the lane. When we got to the opening i could see a rabbit in the distance. The wind was a slight breeze coming towards us. After about 5 mins he flushed a rabbit but it went back into the ditch before i could raise the gun. It caught me by surprize. We kept walking the ditches and within another 5 mins he had another one out. I was ready and droppped him. After two laps of the field the rain was on its way. The dog did flush out 4 more but shots were to dangerous to take( into ditch, towards road etc). I know i had the chance to get more but i enjoyed the morning and was happy to have bagged the one. I think if i did get the other 4 i would have enjoyed it the same as just one. It was nice to see the dog working well and nice to get out on a fresh morning.
