Any trainer would be able to show you correct form etc.

Is there a specific reason why you're looking for an olympic lifting coach?

In the oly lifts? Come off it. The snatch, clean and jerk are very technical movements that require a skilled coach, not just your average trainer. Sorry for the OT.

Really want someone that is used to it and not having done it once during their training. Went to ask one guy in my gym, explained i had bad slipped disc last year and he put me at roman deadlifts and i nearly did my back in and told me they were only deadlift out there. I had been doing them the other way ( conventional way hope you know what i mean)and wanted to see if i could move it on and check posture before increased weight.

Okay I maybe wouldn't trust an 18 year newly trained trainer in jackie skellies but surely a competent PT would be have a good knowledge in all lifts?

Not oly lifts, maybe a basic powerclean but you'd really need an experienced competitor or coach for those tbh.

I have a name or two depending if you want a coach or to learn to eventually compete. PM me if you wish the numbers.

As for how competent gym instructors are. It really depends on who or which ones. For Olympic lifts the IAWLA qualifications are the ones to look for. Most gym instructors only learn (olympic lifts) the deadlift, bench press and basic squat.

Fitton Street gym on Morrison's Island is a good place for it. There are a couple of trainers there that will show you how to do the olympic lifts properly. They have no phone so you'll have to walk in or send me a PM if you want the mobile number.

Not sure but I think you can pay €10 and walk-in.
