Putting flowers on her grave is what I should be doing but it's my first year away from home so i've had to get my brother to do it. :(

Appreciate your mothers while you've got them folks as you'll find out how much you needed them when they're gone.

ROot thats not so bad, and your mum wont mind. No matter where you are, she will always be with you!

And yes, your mum is a very special person. appreciate and respect her! She is very special!

awe sharpie, thats a really nice thing to do! :o

But I will (all joking aside) be having a very lovely mothers day with my mum. I cant do it for my Dad as he has passed. Putting flowers on a grave is just not the same nor is it in anyway fulfilling. so yes, it is nice to be able to appreciate our parents while we have them!

If you are bringing your mam out for dinner tomorrow Chewie, buy your dad a drink and leave it on the table
while you both are having your meal.(that way he is with you)
    /it is what I do.

When you are leaving, ask someone if they would like to have it, and then he has given someone a drink.
( so he is still with you)
/again, that's what I do in our local.
/just to point out, it was mams local too,so I knew who drank the same drink as her.
I like to keep her around as she would have a frigging fit
    if I forgot about her.

/Or worse. Denied her existence for fear of upsetting someone.

And if that doesn't please her, there's always a crossword.

The crossword is on the back of the TV guide part. No fúckin' way is she getting that.

It's my first year as a Mammy on Mammy's Day and himself and his family always bring granny out for a meal so we're going for that (will be about 20/25 people...). My mother is going out with her sister for dinner, so I'll give her her present today (a silver photo frame with a picture of her first grand daughter in it).

i paid her back 125euro i owed her and i'll send her a nice text.. then she'll ring back and i'll chat to her for a while and be all nice.

then i might ask for a lend of 125 euro.

    :D

The poor dog is 15 years old but still has the enthusiasm of a puppy. She's alright with the idea of going for a walk on the beach but then half way through she just stops dead flat and we have to carry her back to the car.

I gave her €50 yesterday and just told her to buy herself something nice for mother's day. She's not really into the flowers or chocolates or any of that stuff, and I detest shopping so it works out for both of us.
