Nocturnal Movies

Couldn't find a thread existing already in the forum for this.

Basically the idea is the same as cyberwolfs library thread but for movies.
Same as the library thread, it would be for movies of a dark/nocturnal nature.

I would recommend Pans Labyrinth to start with.

i think i must be one of the only people that just did not like that movie! it just bugged the hell outta me tbh!

The Crow is arguably the best film yet to be adaptated from a Comic Book. A truly "dark" film, it is beautifully shot, acted and presented as a story. Just sitting back and watching Eric Draven roaming the city at night alone is worth seeing this film. Brandon Lee is undoubtedly the star of the show, but he is more than complimented by the performances of Michael Wincott as Top Dollar and Rochelle Davis as Eric's young friend.

I have a soft spot for this film as I'm not usually fond of films that are primarily within the "fantasy" genre. Johnny Depp is perfect for the role of Edward, and in spite of such little dialogue, it's amazing how well Depp can make the audience feel so much for Edward. Don't miss it, it's the perfect "outsider" story which can be watched over and over again without disappointment.

Yes, Francis Ford Coppola took quite a few liberties with this adaptation, yet, it is still in a way the most faithful homage to Bram Stoker's novel to date. It is certainly worth a watch for Gary Oldman's performance alone. Of course, it is also deliciously shot, I can't stress that enough. It's a real attack on the senses.

If we are talking about the films that deal with the darker side we are I would suggest a more violent style .

First film that came to mind , was the city of god (Cidade de Deus)

A must see, It is in subtitles but that gives it something more imo.

Any of the great mafia movies are great.

"one flew over the cuckoos nest " is a very good psychological film

Yeah, the entire trilogy is essential viewing really.

I'm kinda trying to restrain myself now, as the urge to completely dominate this thread is nearly overwhelming. I'd post 50 trailers per post for 20 pages and crash all your browsers given the chance.

Damn Youtube for failing me! But alas, The Hole (2001) is definitely one to watch. If you like films where it is absolutely impossible to predict what's going to happen next, then this is definiely for you. Can't recommend it enough.

i actually really liked this movie, good fun action movie and if you can get over the "omfg this is so just battle royale" id say most people would enjoy it!
