poor posture- Pilates?

I'm 27 years old and I'm a tall and built bloke but I've always had bad posture. I'm not the worst case but at my size, it's very prominent to croon over so much. It's definitely hereditary. Half of my mothers family have it along with other back issues to varying degrees. I'm definitely not comfortable sitting 'straight'.

Will Pilates help? Any other suggestions? I've seen a couple of miracle cures on the net but I wouldn't be that confident the minute I hear 'money back guarantee'.

I had to deal with this some years ago too.

Two things you might be able to attack...
    Confidence and back work.

Sometimes tall people 'lean' down so they don't stick out. It's an unconscious action that wrecks posture.
I know two girls over 6ft who have terrible posture problems but none of it is physical, it's purely psychological.

Doing back work like rows to drag back the scapulae and shoulders, will help wonders.
Deadlifts and pull ups will benefit your posture too.
