Groin Injury

Hey just looking to see if anyone has had a similar injury to me. Im not diagnosing myself or anything as ive been going to a physio since last summer for it and have been into the doctor last year aswell ( going to go back in next week)

Basically have had a bad groin injury for about a year. At first i played on as it wasnt to bad but since octoberish I could barely walk after matches (play soccer)

Been going to a pyhsio and its been no help really. The pain goes down the inside of my right leg and its really bad across the bottom of my stomach/abdomen. I wake up somedays with a burning pain in my stomach or if im lying down on my back for too long. Doctor ruled out a hernia and said just rest it for a few weeks. Physio said it could be my hip but doesnt really know and hes told me 2 weeks youl be grand about 10 times now. Even Kicking a ball now it really hurts the bottom of my stomach/abdomen.

I didnt played for three months yet it has never healed so im going back into the doctor next week after my exams and politely asking him to organise a scan as its not normal to be out so long from it.

So anyways....has anyone else had this sort of injury and if so how long were they out as its pissing me off now. Lost all my fitness from it now too as I cant run without it hurting.

Do you wear boxers? Try briefs for a while, and a jock strap (be careful, some brands are crap) when playing sport. Lack of support in the nether region can cause similar soreness, along you thigh as you say and across into the abdomon........ My doctor put me right years ago when I had a very similar pain. He kept giving out that boys in school weren't thought about the importance of support. He was an indian guy - kept saying 'you'll give yourself a hernia too', which in his accent nearly made me laugh, only it would have been too painful

I had a consultation with Gerry Mcentee last Monday, for a post hernia injury on my left groin,I am diagnosed with trapped nerves under the mesh of my recent hernia repair. My symptoms are nausua ,headaches, dizzness sore left groin and eventually pain down the inside of my left leg. This all comes on when I start walking or any activity.
I am considering surgery now to release and divide these trapped nerves.
I originally injured myself lifting an old TV.
I hope some one can relate to this.

Hi. How did you get on with this? Gerry McEntee did a hernia repair on me last January and there is still some post-operative pain. I'm thinking of returning, but I reckon he'll say some nerves have got trapped like you.
