I was just reading this on yahoo news and almost spurted tea all over the place on reading this line..

His lawyer Rudolf Mayer said: "He feels remorseful about the personality he has and what he did to the victims based on this personality." He said Fritzl loved his daughter "in his own way".

WTF??!! he loved his daughter in his own way.... right!

    http://uk.news.yahoo.com/4/20090316/twl-fritzl-guilty-of-rape-but-denies-mur-41f21e0.html

If he doesn't get done for murder he'll be out in no time!

Cannot believe the maximum sentence he could get (if not done for murder) is 15 yrs??! There is something fundamentally wrong with that!

I think it is like the cannibal thing there is no presendence to this so there are no exact laws to deal with it..but with Austria maybe they should have developed them at this rate

    An Innocent Man.

Josef Fritzl was minding his own business when two corrupt police officers (getting an address wrong) burst into his house, expecting to find a major drug dealer. Fritzl is shot, and the officers frame him as a freaky looking perverted beast. Fritzl is convicted of molestation, based on the perjured evidence of a police informant. Thrown into a seedy jail, fighting to prove his innocence is diffucult when he has to deal with the realities of prison life, where everyone claims they were framed.

After hours is a forum to make light of things.

Some things however should never be made light of, and I find alot of the posts on this thread extremely unamusing.

Having suffered abuse from a family member as a child, I know the true hell she will be going through.

Count yourselves lucky you haven't gone through something like that, because if you did, there is no way you would ever make fun of it.

Look, either everything is open to humour or nothing is.

It's that simple. If there are threads that touch on subjects that might hit a bit close to home for some people then don't read them?

    That's ridiculous.

When is incest and rape ever open to humour?

Don't worry, if this is the type of thread that is left up unmonitored I certainly won't be coming back.

I know a good few people who have dark things in there past along the lines of rape and incest that are more than happy to crack a rape or incest joke simply because they can remove themselves and their own occurances from other things that go on in the world.

A few of them quite proudly say that it shows they won't let their history own them.

I can only assume you don't watch South Park, Family Guy etc nor have you ever made a single joke based around sex, race, country of origin or anything else that anybody may find offensive?

Look, if you have an issue with thread content then report the post...this back seat Modding lark/moral pontificating isn't going to do squat.

Sorry, but 'Honey, I had non-consensual sex with the kids' just doesn't have the same ring to it.

All the forums have charters, some of them have a more relaxed approach to what you can post. You can be banned from any forum for breaching certain rules though. It's best to go forum by forum when posting.

They say it will be a best cellar.

I find the whole case rather amusing.
The last time there was an Austrian dude who kept his family in the basement it was made into a musical and film.
