Hey does anyone know can you set up a small home network with one of those USB 3G dongle modems from Vodafone? The reason I ask is that where i live it is not possible to have any type of broadband only the Vodafone 3G modem, but I can only use this with my laptop, or disconnect it from my laptop to use it on the family PC.Is it possible to connect it through a router and set up wireless internet for the house?Any advice would be appreciated.

what you could do is to set up internet connection sharing on the laptop with the usb modem connected to it. use the usb modem as the internet interface, then set up a wireless network on the laptop, and make sure the wireless adapter is set to receive it's network settings automatically. Then do the same on all the other wireless adapters in the rest of the pc's/laptop in the house. The only downside is that the laptop has to be on all the time for the rest of the machines to have internet access.....
