Hey, so i'm a pretty active guy but have always had people making fun of the way i run. I never thought much of it, but its only occured to me that, although i'm slim and quite fit, i've never been a fast runner and it could be due to my gait. And at rugby training, some of the heavy forwards were sometimes faster than me.

Where would I go to get an opinion on my gait. Do i have to go to a physio or could one of the trainers in a gym help me out?

Your gait should just come natural to ya!
when you see people running and they look funny there usually not running with there natural gait and usually running at a slow pace!

its obvious to see if its a problem, if its not obvious then i'd suggest its not a problem, maybe your just not made to be fast.

This is the only place I know that does gait analysis.
But it's a shop and you'll get advice but maybe you want to see a medical professional.

Either way, your gait is natural to you so relax. Maybe there are speed drills you can do, surely your coaches would have info on this?

i feel like i could be faster i just have some bad habits that need correcting. i had flat feet as a teenager and still wear insoles so maybe that had something to do with it.

I'm going to say gait comes natural but it doesn't mean you can't change your gait and technique with practice. You'd need to find an experienced sprint coach who can watch and analyse
