www.f4wonline.com is reporting that Andrew "Test" Martin was found dead early yesterday

There are no details on it apart from the apartments where he lived confirming a death and numerous wrestling sources confirming that it was him

Another one to add to the list. I was far from a fan of his, but it's sad

    RIP

The last I heard he was still going out with Kelly Kelly, it's harsh on her too. He would have been 34 next week

EDIT: I just listened to a Wrestling Observer Radio update, Meltzer said that a body was found in Test's apartment with a video store card in the wallet with Kelly Kelly's real name on it

That's very sad news. I met him when he toured Ireland recently and bought him and Sandman a drink. He seemed like a nice guy and was in a good mood that day. R.I.P. Andrew "Test" Martin.

Always felt WWE game him a raw deal back in 2004-05 when they fired him while out injured and i don't think the poor guy has been the same since.

I kinda always had a soft spot for Test just to being a pretty agile f*cker for his size. However when he came back a couple of years ago jacked up to hell, it was slightly disturbing. He was actually my age, which is probably a bit older than a some of our regular posters (33, wouldn't turn 34 until March 17th) Way too young for any life to be lost. :(

Details seem very sketchy, don't they?

Anyway... I was actually a fan of Test's. I really enjoyed his T&A run with Albert, and also thought he was great, and hilarious, when doing the angle with Stacy (when she wanted nothing to do with him, but he still thought she was really into him).

He did the whole "I'm a Canadian, and i love myself" character brilliantly. I remember reading interviews in PowerSlam and so forth, and he always seemed pretty nice. Always made the same 'I wana be a male prostitute' joke :D

Seen as it's all so seemingly sketchy, and no one has just said "Test is dead", I'm hoping he's still OK. But if not, I always found the man very entertaining, and it's really sad to see him go so early.

    RIP Andrew Martin.

Not trying to start anything here, but exactly how are they sketchy? He's been reported as dead now and the next of kin has been notified.

You did read the link rossie provided, right?

Wasn't aware of that. Sad day, so. :(

Nope. I rarely ever click on links when it comes to anything wrestling related. Whilst i don't know many sites by name, it seems whenever i go to a wrestling site, i just get redirected time and time again, and advertising-mania begins.

Heh, i hear that, although I wonder if that could be a bannable offense? Linking sites with millions of popups on it.

Although, anyone that uses Internet Explorer as their web browser probably deserves them, as there's no security with that browser at all, but that's another topic for another part of boards. :)

You can see by the address that rossie's link isn't a wrestling site

I read about that photo a while back, someone was reading into it way too much. Two friends on a night out pictured together. Sure Kelly was pictured holding Punk's hand last year and she was still with Test after that. Do wrestling fans not have female friends?! (A loaded question)

Meltzer confirmed that Test had a Barbie Blank blockbuster card on him at the time of death.

I won't make a negative comment about him wrestling because it would be unfair.

    RIP Andrew

RIP Test. I wonder will TNA do any form of tribute on Sunday (despite how short his run there was)?

I'd be VERY surprised if WWE don't give him a memorial screen at the beginning of RAW.

They may wait until the circumstances become clear to avoid any incidents, while they should acknowledge the death you are advertising to millions one of your former wrestlers has died at 33 to add to countless others

RIP... another death at far too young an age

I know they are going out but why the hell is everyone reporting that he had Kelly/Barbie's rental card on him i mean who cares if he rented dvds with his Girlfriends card, the man just died isnt their anything more interessting they can report on i.e like here the specualtion on a memorial etc

Because other than that, all the authorities would say was that a man was found dead in Test's home. That would make it likely that it was him. The fact that Kelly's card was found on him pretty much confirms that it was him. It was just brought up as something that was released by the police and that gives some identification, because other than that there was no ID

WWE have posted a piece on the website in the last hour

    Test passes away
    Written: March 14, 2009

World Wrestling Entertainment® has been made aware of the passing of Andrew Martin. The WWE extends its deepest condolences to the Martin family. Mr. Martin was under contract with WWE at various time periods and performed under the name "Test." He last performed in February 2007.

Didn't Test support Steroid use openly? One of the reasons why TNA fired him I think. That worked out well for him if thats what he died from. Either that or suicide I'm thinking.

what hope is there for the rest of us or any wrestler if you think a guy going out with Kelly Kelly is suicidal?

As reported earlier, former WWE and TNA star Andrew "Test" Martin has died at the age of 33, just a few days from his 34th birthday. He posted a new blog on his Myspace recently and had this to say:

" I can't tell you how much I hate to see guys keep working long after they should be dead or permanently disabled. You have to come to terms when you ask yourself what is your health worth? To me? You can't put a price on it! So what are you wrestling for? One man's greed so he might throw you a bone? I loved wrestling, it was good to me. I'm still young. I'm in the shape of my life. I've got some money tucked away. I never got into wrestling to be rich and famous."

Was talking about that earlier, it doesn't sound like a guy that had suicide on his mind anyway.

WWE released him after a failed drug test. TNA hired him soon after, but released him when the government started looking into drug use in wrestling, mainly because they didn't want someone who looked like him on their roster

I remember he posted some blog or did an interview where he said that he doesn't drink, but I heard that disproven since. I don't remember him ever being open about steroid use

That last post about him having money tucked away would be true, after he left WWE the first time he went into the property business and made a lot of money

"The Punisher" Andrew Martin did a post on his MySpace page in which he defends the usage of steroids in professional wrestling. He says that they're mostly for cosmetic reasons and compares them to a facelift or botox. However, he says that it's wrong for athletes in other sports to use them because steroids give them a competitive edge. He also mentions TNA at the end of his post by saying, "Don't forget to watch TNA at 9pm eastern time on spike, you will be pleasantly surprised to see how far this company has grown and will continue to do so or you could always watch the same guys I watched when I was a kid doing the same boring story lines. TNA TNA TNA????" You can read the post in its entirety at his MySpace page. (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...iendid=7439092

I remember that now. I think he deleted it a couple of days later

JR posted a blog on www.jrsbarbq.com about Test. He said that he went to rehab in August last year that WWE paid for and that he did real well there, and continued on an AA course after that. He would contact WWE every Friday to let them know how he was getting on, and JR had never seen him happier than when he met him last year

It's sounding a lot like Eddy Guerrero's story now. And the ironic thing is that Test posted a blog after Eddy's death giving out that WWE allowed something like this to happen and how much he hated hearing about stuff like that

Man, this is so sad! Can't believe he's dead at 33! There's too many of these guys dropping too young, something's got to change. I can guarantee that this story is gonna pick up huge momentum and WWE are gonna get ripped completely in the media. Ironicly enough, I was reading that Jesse Ventura was planning on running for Senator and planning on doing a senatorial investigation into Pro Wrestling. The main issue Ventura had was the Independant Contractor status WWE have with their performers.

    This F**kin blows. :(

He was one of those characters that i always looked forward to seeing no matter what the angle or what booking.

He had abilities which for a BIG man, is unmatched right now. Or for the near future.

Test to me will be sadly missed. There was every chance that even though he left the WWE twice, he would pop up again.
And seeing as WWE was paying for his rehab last year maybe that was the long term plan.

RIP to Andrew Martin. And my prayers are with his family.

    Another thing.
The fact that he had a video library card of whoever shouldn't be seen as "Oh he was with her". But more spare a thought for Kelly Kelly and everyone else that was close to him that not only lost a fellow performer, but also a friend.

That would include Eddie Guerrero, Chris Candido, Sherri Martel and an endless list.

It's their lifestyle, and they all chose it.
