Hi Guys I am looking for some sound advise that can help me with putting on muscle and losing my fat. I am currently 18stone and I am 6,2 tall. I do weight training every other day and work on my arms, chest, back and shoulders. For cardio training I do running every night for 30 minutes. I take thermobol a supplement to help speed your metabolism up plus it gives me that extra energy. I am on a sensible diet and consume only low fat products. No alcohol or fatty foods. I take protein to help with building muscle as well as creatine and amino acids. I am just wondering is there anything else I could be doing to help with losing fat and gaining muscle??

Its mainly the fat I want to lose as I have put on a lot of muscle since doing weightlifting over two years ago. I want ideally to lose two stone.

    Top advise would be great!!

Start eating protein and fat, no carbs. That's sensible ;)

Lift weights three times a week, squats, deadlifts, bench press, pull ups, shoulder press etc.

    Run 3 -5 times a week.

    Have a calorie deficit diet.

    And read the f-in' stickys.

Google ketogenic diets if ya already have muscle.

    Hey man,

Just seen your thread, it all really depends on what you want. Do you want to get bigger or do you want to develop the muscle that you are carrying at the moment?? Firstly I am sure that you know that if you want to pack on more size its hard to stay lean. To develop the muscle you are carrying now and to drop the weight you want I would firstly look at the weight that you are lifting, in order to burn the fat off you need to drop the weight slightly and focus on the reps. Secondly look at your diet and ask yourself are you taking in enough protein? What are my carbs like? What fats am I taking in? To drop the weight that you are looking to drop you need to focus on a high protein and fats diet. When I say fats I mean healthy fats which you will find in the likes of almonds, udos oil, flaxseed, peanut butter etc etc. You need to focus on the fats and protein so that you don’t lose any muscle when you’re dropping the weight. Keep the cardio up but again make sure that you are not over doing it as you will eat into protein reserves which will cause you to lose muscle. 2-3 sessions per week should be enough for you.
