Hi, does many of you use your 3G modem / 3G phone while travelling on the bus to kill time on the Internet.
As I usually do this from Galway => Dublin on either citylink or bus eireann and it works fine most of the time however even though I get coverage I have problems sometimes keeping a connection on the Internet, as in if I watch skype for a while it will go offline, etc... however GPRS signal is fine, also with a ping going in the background, still things go offline from time to time.
It's not annoying just strange, most of the time i will get internet by reseting the connection, but change location too fast and it drops, thats at about 50km/h or so

BTW this is with vodafone 3G, Thanks

This is normal with all Mobile. You'll find voice calls drop too.

The data piggy-backs on the Mobile Network.

It can even disconnect when you are standing still and more calls/Connections occur.
    See

Distance / signal and speed are related. GPRS is very slow (8kbps to 70kbps). Faster speeds need more signal. Signal is 1/4 every double of distance. Inverse Square Law.
