Please refer to this post for updates and changes, it is advised that you read all titled posts.

Folks, I need to get some data for this project so I have included a poll.

The MilSim night will be hosted by HRTA but it will be run by myself and extremetaz.

The rules system is in its final beta revisions and is available in the file attached to this post. This is catagorically not the final version however as it may take several months of play testing to work out all of the bugs (Beta is greek for "still doesnt work right").

I need to have an idea of numbers, regularity, what nights and for how long people will be available to play.

Some people have laready received their invites to the night however this is not going to be an open event, you must be on my master list in order to be admitted to the game.

The format for the MilSim will be individual episodes of specific missions whose outcome will effect either the nature of the next event or the availability of certain equipment/special rules. The story line will be dictated by the actions, sucesses and failures of each faction.

Every second week, either Tuesday or Thursday would be preferable for me, but now that I think of it, friday would probably be good too.

Every second week either way though, I cant see the demand for milsim games being high enough to warrant weekly.

voted thursday just because I can blow the end of my weekly paycheck on airsoft related stoof and be confident that i have a new one comming in the morning, is there any wonder the country's in economic turmoil...:p

Voted for every Wednesday, but I guess I could manage every second Tuesday or Thursday. Had a read through the rules - there's a serious amount of work and thought gone in there. Fair play for pulling it all together and I'm sure it will be epic!

I had a read through the R.O.E, looks good to me:)...........i like the advanced medic rules. A bit more of a random element will add spice to the game.

(A back story with flavor text is in production and will follow shortly).

The Jebrovian War scenario is an episode based MilSim event to be held on a weekly/bi-weekly basis.

There will be two factions initially. NATO forces ("tan" team) and The Jebrovian National Army ("green" team). It is required that you indicate a preference for one faction or the other, those failing to do so will be assigned according to the dominant colour in their chosen BDU.

Faction assignments are permanent and you will not be able to switch sides until the plot has run its course. This is intended to maintain the integrity of the scenario's and the effects previous scenario results will have on future in-game events.

Each faction must decide, by whatever internal politics it deems appropriate, on its own 1st in-command (1IC) and 2nd in-command (2IC). A faction may have as many more commanders as they require to organise themselves for games.

Faction commanders will be given complete information on their objectives and have the responsibility to ensure that the players in their factions ranks are properly briefed before each scenario as to the missions and the plans devised to carry them out. ROE organisers expect to have very little input in this area provided factions operate within the rules as given - however ROE organisers will be available for clarifications on game mechanics where appropriate.

To facilitate this a website and forum/chat system is being constructed which will allow for the faction players to interact and discuss their approach to the game. Each chat room and forum will be by approved access only to help keep each factions plans a secret. (We are looking for technical assistance on this).

The advanced medic rules will be active from the first game.

The advanced ammunition requirements will be play tested no a date to be confirmed.

It is strongly reccomended that participants pay close attention to this thread for updates as the rules system is still in its beta stages and subject to change on a regular basis.

Each "episode" is likely to run for 2 hours on the selected night.

Of course you can play ... the CE/SF roles are likely to be plot-ponts or NPC's though.

So far the results are close between Thursday and Firday every second week.

The poll will be open for another couple of weeks so I'll let you decide it between yourselves.

Right, so it's looking like the preference is towards an every second friday event.

The rule set is looking good, if you haven't all read it by now I'd suggest having a goo.

The first couple of game scenarios are nearing completion although there are some props that still need building for the more ambitious projects.

The follow on scenarios will exist only in skelton form until the preceeding scenarios have been played out as the outcome of the previous engagement will have a large bearing on the next game - teams going into any engagement would be well advised to think ahead when it comes to the capture and defence of game assets, particularly where compromises may have to be made....

Yep.

The plan is for the previous games to have an ongoing effect on the later games.

I have four games planned in 2 hour episodes already. I'll write the later games based on the outcome of those.

Please be aware that the ROE rule set has been updated with a few small changes.

This is the latest version.

We're still working on getting the website etc set up and at the second week of April for the first game.

If the mods could update the attached file in the initial post I would appreciate it.

That would be great if you could as I unfortunately have to work every Friday night and was really looking forward to this! I'm sure it would suit many other airsofters that would hate to miss The Late Late Show on a Friday night too!

Hey RT,

Yes, we are genuinely serious about running a thursday night game as well however it depends on a number of factors;

1) The numbers whom we can be garaunteed will show up - there is no point in us spending the time and money for a game of 4 people.

2) Whether the entire enterprise suceeds or fails in the initial few games.

3) Whether we can secure the venue for the evening and will be available ourselves to operate it.

At the moment we are focussing on getting one night up and running sucessfully. Once that is done we will look into having a second night running. There is still a lot of stuff we are talking through such as whether to run them on consecutive weeks or maintain a fortnightly approach, what sort of special effects etc will we have access to with the added strain of a second evening not to mention the intangibles like the plotting, game rules and scripting which all have to be considered.

I would absolutely love to have 2 nights running, it would be a real stimulation to the MilSim community and might attract some new recruits. Its just a matter of numbers.;)

Hopefully so. Its a good alternative to a night in the pub eh?

Edit: I wouldnt worry too much about it being cancelled for any sort of religious or holiday reasons. I'm not the type for it nor is Sean. However, people may wish to arrange car-pooling considering the state of public transport on anysort of an excuse day public occasion.

I'm going to have to put the word out and beg a bit of help from the tech-heads amongst ye to help us get the website in place.

It doesnt need to be anything fancy, just a system that will allow two diferent, mutually exclusive forums to be set up for each faction so as we can deliver the mission briefings and provide playrs a place to discuss leadership, tactics etc.

I want to get something in place by the end of the week.

We'll comp your attendance at the MilSim for 2 games in return.
