Garda: getting a call at the end of your shift?

What happens if you're 10 mins from the end of your shift and you get a call. You get there and you go through whatever you go through and you arrest the guy. I'm assuming you get overtime automatically for whatever time it takes you to sort this situation out etc etc and that you don't just have to work for free? (like…

I too think its a much better idea to transcribe them later. I'm quite a staunch freedom of speech activist etc but I would PREFER if the police presented video evidence to the court of the interview if necessary rather then hand written notes... I mean, if we're talking about a full and accurate retelling of the interview I know which i'd be believing first! Also, quite a bit of communication is in the body language rather then the words... Video has that, transcription doesnt.
