    Hi all

I see my boyfriend just at weekends. My problems is:

    Legs and bikini line,

Everytime i shave my legs in the morning, they are stubbly my that night.
I use Immac hair remover on my bikini line, and also run over it with a razor, just to make sure its extra smooth, but again by that night im stubbly. We are taking about moving in soon...what will i do

how acceptable is you legs and bikini line when they are in this sort of state.

How often does everyone else stay smooth. By bikini line is too sensitive to wax.

This is a genuine problem, and its really getting me down

Hairy legs the ultimate form of contraception. :D

I don't really think it should be a big issue if your close to your partner, it isnt as if hair is unclean. And your going to have to face up to each others humanity if you live in the same space.

If you have dark hair, Lasering the bikini line would be an option.
And then there is hair minimising lotions.
It might very well be running the razor over the immaced skin, that is making the skin sensitive.
Have you ever tried a professional wax?

    1. Your boyfriend loves you.
    2. Not only does he love you, he loves you enough to move in with you and share your lives.
    3. You groom yourself daily.

Believe me, a little bit of a stubble at night isn't going to change his feelings, and if they did, it wouldn't be a good sign.
If it truly bothers you, change your routine so you epilate in the evenings, not the mornings, and then don't give it a second thought.

Its you he loves, not your comparative level of smoothness on the cooch.:)

Have you tried waxing? They use a different wax on the bikini line.

With that said, I haven't shaved my legs in... probably two weeks. The forest hath risen!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 136 ✭✭MeMyself&I

Yes, he laughs at me when i bring it up.
its not affecting our realtionship in any way. I just like to be smooth, and that is what he has been used to (although i am breaking him gentley)

Does any ment comment on these threads?

Also, i used to use hair minimising cream, but cant seem to find any brand anywhere?

Yes, i tried waxing a few times, and i was seriously messed up. Im very eh...fragile.. down there, so it didnt suit.

everyone is fragile down there... it's kind of the name of the game.

You probably had a bad experience with an amateur. If I were you I'd try again somewhere that specializes in waxing - it can mean all the difference :)

i dont think i have shaved my legs since last summer, well not that i can remember anyway

Waxing can be murder at certain times of the month - I think pre menstrual is the worst time.
Also, a beautician once told me not to go for a wax on an empty stomach cos it hurts more, and also to take 2 paracetamol an hour before the appointment.

Another option might be threading. This is brilliant on eyebrows but not sure if they do it for bikinis.

I think you are just going to have to bite the bullet. Whatever about shaving legs, putting a razor to a bikini line is beauty suicide.

    Good luck!

Your fella obviously doesnt give a fiddlers so you shouldnt either!.Ive never expected any GF to be 100% smooth 24-7,its just not viable(for most) and Id say the vast majority of blokes would be in agreement too.

This thread reminds me of some clever grafitti I saw recently:

Edited to say: Sorry Op I know that doesnt answer your question :) I say embrace your natural state and ditch the razors/epilators/lasers/wax!

Edited to say part deux: I dont know why my image violates the photobucket rules!its not copyrighted, rather odd, espcially considering I have uploaded quite graphic pics before!

    That's amazing!!

However, I do now want a Remington Trim & Shave bikini trimmer... I think I missed the point :)

OP, I'd say as long as you're maintaining every time you shower, it's grand. Don't think too many fellas would be expecting you to spend hours shaving every day just so you can be 100% smooth all the time.

I've tried veet, but it doesn't agree with me, so I just shave. Don't bother with the 'bikini' line.

    :D

I must be in an ever increasing minority of men who actually prefer women with pubic hair!! Having experienced the full variety of styles i definitely prefer a nice bush!!!

Having worked on the Continent on occasions my experience is that women in the "mainland" are far less fussed about this that Irish women appear to be (if the various threads here are anything to go by).

Op if i might repectfully suggest you should cut back (pardon the pun) on the shaving - then when you do need to do a job it might not be half as uncomfortable as it obviously is now.

    Hello!

Ah I can give you a bit of help here. I've lived with my boyfriend for a year, and I can tell you once you live with some-one they are going to see you with hairy legs/hairy bikini line. Unless you want to shave/wax like a lunatic all hours of the day, he is going to see them!

If I'm wearing trousers the next day i won't shave my legs, so my legs will be hairy that night - my boyfriend doesn't care in the slightest. Same with my bikini line, I just trim. You DONT have to wax/shave. It's only in the last few years that the totally bald look has become fashionable. I do not see the attraction of alot of pain to achieve a hairless look , it doesnt even look that great.

My guess is your boyfriend won't care.

Meh, my boyfriend is going out with my not my hair, I have very sensitive skin on my legs and quite minimal hair growth on them from repeated waxing, actually I don't think I've shaved mine in about a week, and I'm sure he hasn't noticed, or even if he did I doubt hes bothered

    Shave your legs at night?

They can't be that bad by the nighttime, I'm sure he doesn't even notice!

The girl who does my waxing said not to ever ever use Imaac down there... apparently it makes the hairs more stubborn and difficult (ie.) to get out.

Waxing all the way... plus it lasts longer. Although saying that, I should take my own advice - I am waaaay overdue a trim!

i know i know i know. Its just for my own peace of mind really. Say if i shave my legs every day, or every second day, they get so dry and itchy and red.
He's been so use to these lovely bronzed smooth long legs :P:P (ok, there not that good). But seriously, its nothing really to do with what he thinks i suppose. But what damage must i be doing to my poor pins.

I had one or 2 (medical :() procedures done down below, therefor after trying the waxing and whathave you, immacor nairs sensitive bikini line cream is the only thing i can find that doesnt hurt too much.!!

memyselfand I you are putting yourself through torture for nothing.

There is MEANT to be hair down there for protection, it is a sensitive area.

Leave it alone and just trim it really short. why put yourself thru pain.

And beleive me your man won't faint when he sees your hairy legs either, wait till you see him in all states!!!! that's called 'living together'

When you only see each other a few nights during the week you're not seeing the real them as they will be all done up to the nines. you only see the real people when you move in together.

Wait till you live with his farts, stinking bathrooms, stinking underwear etc!

It sounds like you have an issue with 'what he's used to'. I presume you mean his previous gf? It doesn't matter what he's used to, he's with you now. Personally I couldn't be arsed shaving once a week, I see my bf once a month and he's lucky if I remember to shave my legs then! I may be a bit odd on this though, I have light coloured hair and not a whole lot of leg fluff. Still, he's not getting rid of his bodyforest for me either. :P You seem far too worried about quite a trivial thing in the grand scheme of things, just try and relax about it. Maybe don't shave for a few days and see if he notices, even if he does I doubt he'll complain!

I read it that the OP means that he's used to her being really groomed when they meet for a hot date and she doesn't want him to see her erm dark side when they move in together

oh yeah, me being well gromed, i havent got a clue about his ex's defuzzing methods.

Well i suppose we are fairly used to each other by now, we stay with each other from thursday night until monday, so practically live with each other half the week already.

I think when the summer comes in, it will be better, let the air get at my legs!!

thank you every body for all your opinions!!! :pac:

ywa, life is far too short to worrying about waxing and shaving and sure men never notice anyway

sometimes my OH has to remind me shave my pits, if i am wearing a sleaveless top .

That happens to me all the time. I started leaving my razor in the shower about a year ago in the hope it would encourage me to shave more often. It didn't work. :pac:

ok i wax my legs and underarms and eyebrows. My bikini line i wax in the summer and in the winter i use a trimmer. Immac burned me before on my bikini line and i git a few ingrown hairs.

In all honesty OP just keep yourself nice for yourself. I'm sure your BF won't mind and don't worry what his ex did. Your your own woman!

personally , shave my legs and just trip my bikini aera, only place i wax is my eye brows mainly cause i cant be bothered wit having to pluck every day or second day

My girlfriend shaves all the usual places, but even when it is a bit stubbly ie. under her arms on her legs etc, it doesn't bother me in the slightest, and I let her know that.. It's really not a big deal for us as long as the hairs aren't very long!

I hate to admit it but she's actually made me shave the hairs under my arms because they were too long :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 486 ✭✭nesbitt

If your hair bothers you that much, go and have bikini line lasered and then in time get your upper legs done and so on.

However as others have said go easy on yerself... ;)
