The GAA want to make this a double header in Croke Park along with the Dublin hurlers against Tipp.

If the game is to be in Parnell Park where it should be,I'd imagine it will be all ticket.

Won't be in Croke Park as the Irl V Bulgaria match is on the Saturday night beforehand. They'd have too much to do to get it ready for the following day. Parnell Park it is.

Get them out to fu<k, thought GAA games were supposed to have priority:mad:

While the GAA own Croke Park, they are entered into a contract with the FAI and the terms and conditions clearly state that the GAA are legally obliged to adhere to fulfilling and accomodating the fixtures.

However, the GAA in their infinite wisdom could possibly tweak the fixtures and swap the weekends of the Dublin-Westmeath game and the Dublin-Kerry game so that Dublin-Kerry could be in Croker. It wouldn't surprise me.

That won't happen, the match will be in the Nell.

We've been HQ's lapdogs for long enough now!:pac:

The usual outlets, tickets for all Dublin league matches (as well as championship) are distributed amongst the clubs with limited sales through Parnell Park and if the demand isn't there they'll go up on ticketmaster.

The way Dublin are going at present, the Kerry match will almost certainly not be in Croke Park, with Dublin way down the table and unlikely to be challenging for promotion.

eh, we're in Division 1 already thanks ;)

All it takes is a couple of results to go our way and we could be in contention for a top 2 placing but it's an extreme long shot.

I still feel that had we not been used as the GAA's financial lapdogs for their 125th anniversary extravaganza and played Tyrone in our proper home (Parnell Park), we could have 2 wins out of 3!

Never mind, bring on the Oak Leaf this Saturday! :D

It probably won't be all ticket or a sell out given the team's poor form, I don't see a massive turnout this Sunday.

Just rang the ticket office at croke park to see if they could help and she told me that its pay at the turnstiles.

I thought it might be pay at the turnstiles alright. Kerry don't travel much outside September and a lot of the Dublin fans might want to go to Thurles next Sunday. If I opt to go to the Dublin v Kerry game, then I am fine for a ticket as I bought mine last summer.

Does anyone know how much tickets for this game will cost? Is there any discount for getting them in advance, even though they are available on the day from Parnell Park?

Quick question - I am bringing the young lad to the game at the weekend, it will be my (and his) first time at Parnell Park, where is the best place in the ground to take a 5 year old?
PS A Kerry supporting 5 year old........!

    Thanks in advance

The terrace pitch side and sit him on the wall he will be really close to the players or you could pay into the stand but i think you would have to pay adult price for him into the stand. Enjoy

4,000 at the Dublin v Derry game... there'll hardly be a need to make any Dublin league game All Ticket ... unless they put fireworks on after to keep those not interested in the game satisfied. Hope the hurlers start pulling in the crowds soon - they deserve it...

It was €13 for the terrace for the Derry game so I can't see that changing.

Thank you very much dcr22B. Will definitly be there if tickets are only €13 for the terrace on the day.

Hopefully I will be able to understand the rules but very much looking forward to it.

Any idea what the stand tickets might cost? The forecast aint too good for the weekend:( Tried a few sites but couldnt find it anywhere.

There is also the very very slim possibility that the price might be reduced a bit given the match is being televised, although I doubt it strongly.

I'm not 100% sure but I think it may be €15.

cirobson, there are no tickets being issued for this Sunday's game i.e. you can pay at the entrance.

So am I the only one sensing an upset here? Dublin will be well up for it and have a lot to prove. Kerry may be fighting for the NFL title but not winning the title wouldn't be near as bad for them as relegation would be for Dublin. Nice advantage having it in Parnell Park too.

I went for Dublin by 2-3 points in the pools.

Good crowd there today, the stand was full with people standing at the front and sitting in the aisles.

As for the game, I'm sure enough will be said about it by more qualified people than myself but I was very happy with the Dublin performance, onwards and upwards.

Some good performances, and overall our best of the league this year. We still should have won it though. I am sure all the Kerry fans will be delighted that Colm Cooper and much of the rest of the team, seem to have finally solved the problem of the seventieth minute cramp, as they did in the All-Ireland Final last year. Somehow though, I am sure it will reappear during the year. They never seem to be able to completely get rid of it.

As for the Dublin team, there is still a lot of work to be done, but today was encouraging, especially as a lot of the first team regulars of recent years were not playing today. We should beat Westmeath and then hope that Derry stop Donegal, so that we retain our Division One status.

Yeah, great game. I thought they looked a bit shaky in the last 10 mins. Gilroy has a bit of work to do there.I don't think anyone is saying Dublin will win Sam but the point that is being made is that Gilroy is correct to audition a large number of players because those that have been tried up to now haven't quite made the grade. Dublin have only been beaten by counties in the top 5 and primarily by the top 1 or 2. If Gilroy can find 3-4 players that can bring ye up a notch or two from previous years then, with a bit of luck, ye could do well. If Ross McConnell can make it at midfield I'd put Ryan back in the HB line and put Griffin or Hubbard in the corner and with the 2 Brongans, Connolly (if he shows consistency) and Keaney you have a fairly good looking team for the summer. Gilroy will be judged on the championship and IMO he is right to experiment in the league, however next year I would agree that he should use the league to try and build momentum and I would pick 11 or 12 of my best 15 for each game and try and win it.

I always wonder why Dublin seem incapable of holding onto a lead. Do they WANT to lose or something?!

Either way, good result for the Dubs, all things considered.

I agree with all of that. Even though it was disappointing not to get the win, the performance was very encouraging. For the game against Westmeath and looking towards the championship, the team I'd like to see is:

    Cluxton

    Henry
    Bastic
    Hubbard

    Cahill
    Griffin
    Brennan

    Whelan
    McConnell

    Cullen
    A. Brogan
    Connolly

    B. Brogan
    Davoren
    Keaney

Depending on Shane Ryan's fitness, I'd stick him in right half back, with Cahill moving to the left. Also, if Alan Brogan isn't fit to start, I'd move Keaney to centre-forward and bring in Paddy Andrews. That's a very decent team imo.

Great game to watch for sure. Thought Kerry should have stole it at the end. Thought it was funny to see Brogan punch the air to get the winning point....ooops it hit the post; Never count your chickens and all that!

Cracking game though, plenty of pace in it.

Sean O'Sullivan did the exact same thing about a minute later, except his shot was a mile wide!:D

    Typical.... enlighten me please?

I actually didn't think it was funny, thought it was cat, celebrating and punching the air before the ball has gone over the bar is a little sad.

How Donaghy wasn't yellow carded was an absolute joke.

First he caught Cullen around the neck (granted I would've accepted a black card for that as it could've been accidental although the letter of the law would state otherwise) and two minutes later, he clearly kicked a Dublin player on the ground right in front of McEneaney after fouling him. Yet again, no action???

Not making excuses as we should have closed the game out but such consistent inconsistency (he's never given the Dubs a break) contributed to us not taking two points as Donaghy set up the goal as well as scoring teh equalising point.

Still, beat the Lake County and Derry do us a favour against Donegal and we'll stay up :) hopefully!

I dont know if i have ever +1'd a post before but that is bang on there

Why the hell couldnt we hold on to that lead, kerry didnt deserve the draw the way they played and it was a sign of intent for Dublin, there were still a fair few flaws in play, at times the defense werent even on the pitch but luckily galvin blasted it wide as did cooper a few times so it went unpunished but it needs to get sorted if we are gonna be any damger in the summer

Anybody know who got man of the match in this? Thought Darren Magee had a very solid game throughout the match. Davoren definitely improved as the game progressed a fine point taken in the 2nd half from the right side of the pitch coupled with the goal, a promising debut.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 102 ✭✭deeno1975

Thought Kerry were poor, aimless balls into the full forward line are not reaping the rewards that it did in the past, the secret is out, Dublin smothered them...

Dublin should have closed it out as I felt Kerry were there for the taking and only starting getting their act together when the gun was to the head.. Still though, Dublin look to be improving and have upped the physical stakes without the verbals... Lets hope that they meet in the white heat of September!

Donaghy was cat lucky, awful cheap shot to kick the lad on the ground.

Dublin should kick themselves for letting them back in, I thought Cluxton should have got the ball for the goal? Looked like he almost pulled out?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Flukey

While people were screaming for a free when the Dublin player was caught round the neck, the move continued and Dublin got their goal. On this occasion it was good not to have got the free.

It will never beat that soccer player who went around the keeper, tapped the ball towards goal from about 5 feet and ran off celebrating to the corner flag.....unfortunately it was a horribly wet day and a muddy pitch and the ball stopped dead about half a foot from the line. Slight embarrassment was felt i presume :D
