Last night, I watched a 15 minute recap of the 1st season (to refresh my memory of what happened in the latter stages of season 1), and watched most of the first episode of season 2 (but fell asleep for last 15 minutes) - loved what I saw though!

    Great to have it back.

These places would only have it had the show already aired in the states.

There are often Pre-airing screeners leaked before a season premiere.

First 2 episodes were absolutely top-notch it has to be said.

    Episode 1 was
very good but should have really left the more insignificant plotlines back in season 1, such as Skye's sister's brief bout of kleptomania. I'd completely forgotten about it and I didn't really think it served a purpose to be brought up but I guess it brought forth the sibling feud between the two. As long as that's the end of it. The final scene was great though with Jesse's obviously looking nervous when Walt approached the car.

    Episode 2 was
all-in-all a damn fine episode. Some very tense viewing especially the bell ringing of the grandfather (i'm guessing it was Tuco's grandfather but don't think it was ever really revealed.. probably presumed!) which was used as a great plot device for tension and also comic effect (over the end credits). The scene with Walt putting the "tainted meth" over Tuco's burrito with the grandfather's eye catching him as he was doing it was quite nerve-jarring to watch. Loved how Tuco was all in taking the "new meth" until Jesse mentioned chilli powder!
    :D

Was very tired so didn't make it through episode 3. Will watch that later.

Just wish I knew where you got E02 from. It's gonna be a long wait till next week to find out what happens next :(.
Gotta love the brother-in-law DEA agent. He really loves his work :D.

    Also it looks like
Skylar is finally gonna find out what's going on.

any chance of a pm about where you got the other eps ive only been able to find what aired but i like it, this show makes science fun :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,788 ✭✭✭tvnutz

First 2 episodes were brilliant, especially the second, very tense all the way through.

The brother in law Hank is a great character,he is hilarious as well.
Getting a photo taken with the mope who got his arm severed between the cars :P

First two episodes were ridiculously excellent. 3rd wasn't quite as gripping but served its purpose well, provided some much needed respite from the tension.

Anyone else feel that the first 3 episodes were more of an ending to last season rather than a start for season 2? Episode 3 had a very 'season finale' feel to it, wrapping up most of the stuff that had occured in the past 4 or 5 eps, with episode 4 being the 'true' season 2 opener.

Anyway, all 3 episodes were incredible. Great to have this back. The cinematography at times can be breathtaking.

Now, the long wait for episode 4 begins. :(

True enough, the Season was cut short by the writers' strike after all. At least they didn't pull a Heroes. :P

I feel your pain about the waiting, I always tell myself I won't watch the Pre-air episodes, but I've the willpower of a shrew.

Top quality acting this episode, real disintegration going on with Walt and Jesse.
I was half thinking Walt'd tell all, but they're just gonna spin that out for the rest of the season. Very powerful acting by both Cranston and yer man, can't stress that enough!

Still probably the best thing on TV at the moment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,200 ✭✭✭✭Basq

    Aaron Paul, FYI.

Yeah they were both excellent in this - a real breakdown that followed nicely from the first "trilogy" of episodes.

On a side note, I was interested to see that RJ Mitte, the actor who plays Walt's son, actually does have cerebral palsy - it's not acted.

this show rules, its a pity it hasnt caught on over here.
hal aka walter plays the role so good!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,067 ✭✭✭L31mr0d

great show, it's probably my favourite show at the moment. The last episode, Peekaboo, was really good. The show seems to be going down the route that Jesse and Walt where actually good people to start with, but as it goes on and they continue with Walts plan both of them are hardening. I can see Walt coming to completely embody this Heisenberg persona that he has created.

Jesus the end of the latest episode was nasty.

Anyone know when season 2 of Breaking Bad is starting on FX UK?

Latest episode proves that this is the best thing on TV at the moment.
Danny Trejo steals both scenes he's in!

I'm still not sure about the pre credits scene, sometimes it's mysterious, other times (like this episode) it's totally off the wall...

The landlord's a bit of all right as well, I like where this is going.

Loved the Mexican song at the start.

    What a show.

The last action scene of this week's episode is hilarious! :D The series is getting better and better. The women are also really hot, Skylar and Jesse's girlfriend.

The one weak point of this show is the ever repetitive 'waaa terminal cancer fealingses'... it seems to crop up ever so often and it just goes nowhere.

Still won't stop me watching it!

Another great episode. I particularly like how Saul seemed like a comedy buffoon at the start but turned out to be far more wily, interesting and probably dangerous by the end.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13 HungarianHippo

Saul being a "buffoon" was the same trick they used with the Crackheads. You immediately write them off as lame stereotypes. yet before the episode is finished the writer's have given you a few intriguing glimpses into their darker (more interesting) side.

"We don't need a criminal lawyer. We need a CRIMINAL lawyer".

    In a word. Class.

I did enjoy the episode but I mean come on for the dealer bust they have two vans full of agents. For the main head honcho bust they have one car with four people

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,683 ✭✭✭DeepBlue

The same two vans rushed in to make the arrest of the patsy that they put in Heisenberg's place. It's still a little deus ex machina that the only video recorder is in Hank's car but hey, you gotta allow for some suspension of disbelief.

Liked the reappearance of the ski masks :D.

good episode. Loved the opening scene. Sauls involvement now will prove another interesting side story.

Why won't season 2 end all ready. :D

I've been stockpiling the episodes so that I can sit down and watch it all in one or two sittings. Last year I rewatched all all the episodes before watching the latest one meaning that by episode 7 I had seen episode 1 six times. I would do the same with season 2 but college has me snowed under with work and I know damn well that once I start watching season 2 I can forget about meeting my deadlines this Friday.

wow - i love this show one of the best on tv now that BSG is gone

So this is worth getting into? I watched the first 2 and a bit eps of season 1, and felt sort of 'meh' about it. Like, how many more levels of sh!te can they heap on this poor guy? Is it worth persevering (ignoring the purely subjective nature of that query)?

It's not really a show where it takes a while to get into.
If you watched an episode or two and didn't really like it then it's probably not for you.

I've felt a bit that the start of this season has been a bit dark, too dark maybe but it's lightened up a bit in the last couple of episodes (
    exploding turtle notwithstanding
    ).

For those that do get into it the Breaking Bad podcasts are an additional treat worth checking out.

I watched the first 3 episodes of season 2 today and am really liking them so far.

I should be watching the rest of them over the next couple of days and will probably post back then

Well you can see from the levels of adulation on any 'Breaking Bad' thread that many people really like it. I certainly don't think it's a "meh" show - it's got great acting from Cranston and has a very twisted black vein of humour, alongside some great drama. If you don't like what you've seen so far, you probably won't in future episodes.

great last ep, this vince gallighan guy must have wrote some of the humourous episodes of the xfiles show, saul is right out of that vein.

saul is like the lawyer in the wire
