IF u had to do squats.....by picking the weight up off the floor each time and setting it on the back of your neck without any safety rack, cage, stands or any other precautions......

do your squats and keep enough energy to get the weight over your head again and back on to the floor

    anyone else tried this?

That sounds quite dangerous if your squatting heavy. Also, you wont be giving your squats the most if you are holding off in order to bring the bar back over your head and onto the floor.

normally i can squat about 120 in a gym

but at homme i can only manage about 70x10 for 5 sets since the risk of serious injury is quiite high if i lose balance

If I was in this situation I'd concentrate on front squats. That way you take the pressing over the head (x2) element out of the lift and can just dump it forward at the end. You don't have to save enough strength for an overhead press at the end. You can also not handle as much weight front squatting so you'll get more from the weight you can get up there.

Also a great incentive to get your clean strength up I suppose!

I can clean up just over 60kg, then I lift up with my left hand and pull down with the right and just graze the bar over my head onto my back. Then I squat with my back to my bed, when finished I can sit on the bed and lie back dropping the weight. Haven't done them in ages though

I am doing front squats more, and did some belt squats too. I was able to manage 100kg on the belt squats, no way I could clean that!

If you are already going to a gym I would just stick with deadlifts at home and squats in the gym.

I have a similar issue, I do my squats and then place the bar bell on the roman chair which makes things easier
