in recent weeks i've started to do weighted pull-ups & dips with dumbbells between my ankles and right now i'm up to using an 8k one but i reckon in just over a week i'll be up to using the 12.5 one which looks far too clunky to try dangling so i think it's time i do what i should have done a couple of weeks ago and get a dip belt!

problem is i checked argos and while they had every single fitness accessory known to man (including about 20 i'd never even heard of!) they don't seem to have dip belts-

so anyone know where i could pick one up in dublin??

I wouldn't go cheap. I am currently doing dips with up to 40kg added, I have heard of cheap belts busting at 30 or 35kg. I am also doing belt squats with 100kg on it.

    I have the ironmind one.
IronMind's De Rigueur Dipping Belt holds 1,000 pounds with ease,

The irish lifting one looks good & strong too.

    thanks guys :)

the irish lifting one looks the best bet for me as i think it'll be a while before i'm up to doing the 40K - 1,000lb's reps necessary!!! cheers for the links.

have to say though, i'm intrigued by the possibility of the make one yourself version, might show my DIY mad Da a print-off and see what he reckons :D

doesn't seem like you can actually buy one in a shop around dublin then just online it seems?

An old kratty belt works just fine and costs about €10. I've never stress-tested them but I had 40kg on mine one day and it didn't seem to be under any major stress. Get a 320cm one and you'll have plenty of length.

i drink / play pool / drink /drink at camden st. every week so will go hunting for the shop this week if no dip belts in stock will just order it online (think i can survive just dangling dumbbells for another 2-3 workouts)

    cheers mate :D
