Bear with me now....ya know how there are no designated toilets for drivers around Dub City Centre etc, what do they when they need to use the toilet?

Is there mountains of píssy bottles in the driver's cabin?

Probably a toilet in the terminus. Can people not go an hour or two without the toilet these days?

They turn on the radio and whistle/rock from side to side. They all do it. Watch and you'll see.

You should ask one of them.

They piss into big gallon plastic milk jugs. "Way of the road Bubbles"

They have a special compartment that they can easily piss into. That piss is then vaporised and released into the main part of the bus to give that familiar Dublin bus smell.

When you take employment with Dublin bus you get a uniform, danger money and colostomy bags. Oh the glamour.

Official AH thread of the day.
I will pick a thread at random each day and sticky it.
There will be no threads discussing anything to do with the government or the recession because everyone is sick to death of hearing about that.

In fact there will also be an official AH dud thread of the day which will be locked. That thread will almost certainly be some bitch/moan about the recession.

I salute your ability to spell Pighead.

Many a terminus is no where near a toilet. Jamestown road in Finglas (outside the business centre) is one example. A driver could knock on someone's house across the road i suppose but for the most part its against the wall.

Sick for IvaBigWun. The only thread from the first three pages of AH that wasn't one of his gets picked as Thread of the Day. Tough break for the big fella.

    +1 to non 'R' threads.

-1 to thread sticky of the day threads. You've unwittingly started a thread starting frenzy. G'luck with that ;)

They're all given a standard-issue empty Fanta bottle. Drivers on cross-city Dublin Bus routes such as the 16 get a 2L one.

The bus drivers upon joining get a complicated medical procedure that alters their bladder and sweat glands, allowing them to clandestinely "sweat" their urine from the pores throughout the day. Watch any driver in a shirt on a hot day and notice the yellowing stain on his back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,474 ✭✭✭jim o doom

The above procedure does not however work for "number 2's" hence the "anti-assault" (read clip on) ties little known second use as portable TP.

Haaaaarsh (but true). The drivers of the 78A get a junkie repelling device.

Commendable, but what happened the ban on the toilet threads? Does this mean you have to ban yourself? :P

This is actually a really good question.

I saw a bus driver in Galway pee ON the bus once. I was working in an office and there was a bus stop just in front of it. Saw a bus pull up and stop for a few minutes - no big deal the bus drivers would often stop there and you'd see them reading the paper. This guy however was standing up facing the door of the bus. We could only see from about chest height up (thank God!). We were wondering what he was doing until we noticed the trickle of liquid coming out under the door.

There is no ban for the poster of toilet threads, the thread is locked.

Dublin Bus drivers, if I can give them any kudos for initiative, would have preplanned piss stops for use in emergencies.
No driver worth his salt would get into a bus without knowing the best spots for unloading the bag on any particular route.
I'm quite sure the Bus Eireann lads and lassies do not load up with quarts of Coke before a trip to Galway or Limerick.

It's common sense here and these people are very practical.

An auld two litre milk container in the cab is usually a last resort.

They learn the ability to get a good portion of the days pissing done on the rare occasions they get to a toilet. They don't piss for hours, then 3 come along at once.

I've wondered this for a while, but about people at kiosks in shopping centres... would you just have to make friends with a member of staff from a shop and get them to watch your stand while you take a break?

If I've learned nothing else from Eastenders, it's that people will happily watch and run a market stall at a moment's notice for you no matter what else they may have to do and without any prior training in how to operate said stall or what price a lb of tomatoes should be.

Also anyone can hop behind the bar at any stage to cover in an emergency. They will instantly be able to pull pints, operate the till and know what price to charge for drinks.

    Semantics, is it?

This isn't actually a toilet thread because there are no toilets on most public buses in this country. It's a thread asking where bus drivers take a leak as it's quite obvious there will be occasions where they need to go in an emergency.
