Motivation for food habits

Ok I know theres plenty of threads on getting motivated to get fit, that bit i think ive nearly sorted, ive made it a habit now, and its starting to become routine. Just wondering can you do the same with food?
Im fitter than Ive ever been but cant shed the belly for love nor money. My arms still have that slight soft fatty feel to them.
I know its my diet. This isnt a thread about WHAT I need to be eating, that I already know, its just its killing me, everything I like I seem to have to give up, even down to red meat.

I dont eat really badly , alot would argue I eat "well" ,but there not exactly fat shedding meals, my question is how long will it take before I will actually start enjoying this healthy kind of food? Ive caved in a few times, I love butter , cheese, toast, big lasagnes, chinese and Indian food, spaghetti bolognese, or anything with mince,i live at home so I cant resist my mothers cooking either

Im not bad when it comes to bad snacks, i.e. I dont eat bars or taytos or cakes or anything like that.

Today was a tough day (poor me ), I nibbled away at my lettuce ,tomatoes and cucumber, some soup and brown bread, while watching the lads eat a geourgous looking sheperds pie.

It seems to be like this alot though, and I dont like fish which is really annoying, with the exception of tuna straight from the can, sometimes i wont mind a bit of salmon but im never ever in the mood for it.
I like chicken but im not gonna eat that the rest of my life,Im not very adventourous either with salads so that makes them really really boring.

Any advice on learning to enjoy good foods, sorry for the long rant, but it just seems Im not getting the benefit out of working out that I could get.

Variety is the key, I never eat the same lunch or dinner in the same week. As I don't eat mince so I can't give you a concrete answer, but I imagine if you buy lean mince, cook it and drain the fat, then mix it with a tin of tomatoes, garlic/herbs and some onions you can have all the spagetti bologense taste without the spagetti :) There's plenty of chinese/indian options you can make yourself, most currys for example are very healthy once you stay away from coconut milk, ghee and fatty meat, I'd go mad without a curry. :D Curries freeze well too, I just throw lots of stock, spices, lentils and veg in a pot, dispense it out and then have a healthy meal on demand that's got lots of flavours to excite my tastebuds and make me not even think about grabbing some chips.

There's tons of sauces you can put on things, I put a lot of garlic on food, lots of spices/mustard etc. You can take boring things and make them taste amazing with the right spices.

If I want some cheese, I nibble a little bit, savouring the flavour like I never did before I started to try to loose weight, if I want some fried rice I rob a spoon from my sister's plate and get out of the room :D

Some nice tips there cheers, I just want to eat tasty dinners but i guess its like making a decision to get fit itself, you have to put in the hard work with food as well.!!
