It wouldn't be such a blatant scam if the money was put into research for green technology or something to that effect. But I think we can safely say that won't happen.

    They'll come up with anything.

    You got that right.

    Where is the money going?

"oh, we are buying "off sets in India for you little people".

Global warming is a scam, and CO2 is an essential life sustaining gas.

I would have thought the people would have finally realised, the big boys are not there to look after you.

When other countries are dealing with the recession by reducing taxation to stimulate their economies, what does our government do?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,526 ✭✭✭✭Quazzie

If their is a carbon tax being introduced then that means we are putting too much CO2 into the air, which is possible, but wouldn't that make Ireland, or at least Dublin a smoggy place? If this is the case and there is a tax required then why aren't the trees being planted in Ireland to offset this here, and not in India? We could offset by planting trees here and also contribute to our forrest industries as a side effect.

    What have you been reading?

All other countries are also increasing taxes and introducing a carbon tax. When little O'bama says "we are all in this togeather, we all have to carry a bigger burden", what do you think he is getting at?

Same with Gordy Brown, all in it togeather. Well I tell you something, we were not all in it togeather a few years ago, were we?

These Jap fellas did have something to say recently, although I can't recall RTE covering the article. Surprise that.

Lets be realistic for once this isnt FF its those god damn tree hugging hippies greens.
I believe scientists when they offer ideas of what climate change is and how its happening but enviro-freaks will lie through their teeth for what they think is the greater good. Then were forced to share their priorities

Global warming is natural yes, but CO2 emissions are accelerating the problem.

Very naive of you. This is a world wide agenda. The environmental movement is a basis for totalitarian control, it is not there to save the whales.

A hot air tax would be more appropriate (it directly affects temperatures). FF would tax themselves out of government.

It also causes those of us sick of listening to spouted hot air to heat up with anger and frustration giving us the illusion of global warming.

    :D (I assume thats sarcasm ;) )

Did you just move my roll-eyes? How dare you! Though you were prob only protecting the environment :) Its not as easy as asking about the weather unfortunately. Climate does change outside of our control, what were being told is the swings are warmer in general. Though I think scientists are still learning new things and I trust their research. However what I dont like are the Al Gores and such who will select the findings to back their totalatarianism (sp?) beliefs.

I love it when someone like you decides to 'prove' that global warming is a scam by linking to one article and shrieking "SEEE!!!!", while ignoring the mountain of peer reviewed papers that say otherwise.

No doubt it's all part of the elaborate scam only you can percieve because, well, you're so damn clever. I mean if we obviously are in need of a man as enlightened and wise as you.

I wonder how much they'll lash onto our energy bills?

There are carbon taxes already for large users of electricity such as factories.

I'd have no major problem if there was a "levy" of a couple of % on my gas and electricity bills if it was guaranteed to be used wisely on such schemes as upgrading the whole network (this is being done anyway) and investing in far more renewable technologies. The government is committed to 30% green energy - they should aim for as high and sustainable a figure as possible.
It'll create jobs and also put more money into the country due to the decrease in importing gas and oil.

So, basically, the scientific method is wrong, therefore, scientists can't be trusted.
Yet you're willing to cite scientists from japan to back up your innane drivel.

Good lord, you really do believe the shit your bleating on about, don't you.

Im sure some will. Unfortunately too many suggest we do have an impact to believe theyre all on the payroll. Again I don't think we make anywhere near the impact eco-freaks like to claim and I am very anti-green because of the way they try to force their priorities on everyone else. TBH the guys disgust me but science has held itself up alot better in its history than hippies so I'm more inclined to listen to their theories.

    Where he says:

    it should be:

    κS= TS/ (4FC)≈ 288 / (4 x 236) ≈ 0.305 °K W–1 m3
