    Hi there

Please excuse my ignorance on this but am just wondering if there is any benefit in getting the cervical cancer vaccine after becoming sexually active. I am 29 and since 2002 I have had to go for a yearly colposcopy following an anbnormal smear everytime! This year for the first time in 7 years my smear has come back fine but I must still have one done yearly unlike my peers in the same age group who are reccomended to get one every 3 years. With all the media attention at the moment regarding Jade Goody & the governments decision to withdraw the vaccine, I suppose you cannot be too careful enough when it come to the big C so any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

I hate to be unhelpful, but really, if you feel this way, talk to your doctor about it. If he/she says go for it, then it's only €300 which is (by what people tell me) a bargin.
