    Got a Whammy pedal today!

    21837_1265716695952_1620831306_654739_1171233_n.jpg
(I'll replace this with a better-lit photo tomorrow)

    Signal goes:
    Guitar - RAT - SD-1 - Small Stone - Copilot FX Android - Vibratrem - Whammy - DD-6 - Pitchblack - RE-20 - Amp

I keep the tuner so near the end so I can loop a little fragment of a note on the DD-6, build a chord up on it, and use the Pitchblack as a killswitch.

Still not so sure where to keep the Whammy. If it's after the ring modulator, I can shift the ring modded signal, but if it's after, I can modulate the lovely distortion that comes from the Whammy when you play more than one note. Also, I don't like having the RAT before the SD-1, but my cable can't go into the SD-1 sideways and get over the edge of my board. I had it horizontal on above the RAT, but it was too cumbersome, I kept hitting the RAT's volume knob.

I think I'm pretty happy with this board :)

Well, as the title suggests, the below is an image of my modded squier classic vibe. The upgrades are as follows:
New pickups: Neck, Fednder Texas Special. Bridge and Middle, GFS lipstick tubes for a strat.
    All gold hardware.
New tone block, to swap out the rubbish one that came with the gfs gold bridge. I have to say the sustain was improved ten fold, it sounds awesome.
And finally a new pickguard to top it all off.

My beautiful Warmoth LP. It's out of action at the moment as I have (once again) gutted the electronics. About twice a year I get the urge to make it different. Going from the "Jimmy Page" wiring to something a lot simpler, with coil-taps at the end of the tone pots and maybe a kill-switch. Fun, fun, fun. :D

    One and two.

My humble lot (camera phone pic). The bass and the LP are the only ones that get regular playing.

latest pedalboard incarnation in the making...

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,034 ✭✭✭rcaz

Here's the latest incarnation of my board:

    12326_1316529606243_1620831306_759297_3457649_n.jpg

    Two things;

I might have to slightly reconsider my stance on multi-effects - although I would never base a setup around it as the main part, having it there's pretty cool. I only put this board together this afternoon, so I've only been playing with one sound out of it, and the Zoom pedal is doing a 8ve harmony and some reverb, with delay and more reverb from my DD-6 and RE-20 and third harmonies from the Whammy. Ronald Jones ftw.

And the stereo outs from the Zoom are feeding my main amp, and that little fender Mini Deluxe dealy just on top of the board. I can pick that one up, switch it on, and hold it up to the pickups for some really harsh feedback, which goes out into my main amp also. The addition of the Small Stone makes the feedback really interesting. Little trick I learned from Ronald Jones too.

Doing all this while playing with the coin is probably the most exciting thing I've done with my guitar :)

(Orange bag used to stop the velcro on my Space Echo from sticking to the board for now so I can change it around without having to use a ****ing crowbar...)

New pedal day in the form of the Memory Boy, I got it in the sale in Music Maker for €80. My friend was buying a memory boy and a holy grail, so they gave him a Deluxe Memory Boy for the same price :-/

And man, I LOVE analogue delay. I knew it'd be different compared to my DD-6, but I didn't realise how different. The best bit is, I don't prefer either, I absolutely LOVE having both digital and analogue together :)

Also, I didn't realise how much of a crazy noise maker it'd be - square wave vibrato with the 'depth' all the way up and the 'blend' set to taste... MAN!! As soon as I started playing, my mind was racing with a ton of ideas for new sounds. I'm a very happy guitarist right now :)
