Gobsh**es standing behind reporters

Was just watching the 9 o'clock headlines there. The Fianna Fail ard fheis was covered.

Reporter talking from the venue with about a dozen loo laas standing around him looking towards the camera.

TBH I think it's hilarious. These are grown men (mostly) acting like kids who see a camera for the first time. They have nothing to contribute to the actual report but feel obligated to stick their mugs in there.

I have nothing to contribute to this thread. I just want to be seen!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,506 ✭✭✭muletide

myself and the wife were saying just the same.

Are there really still gormless gob****es out there who are dying to be seen by mammy on de telly.

Reminds me of the idiots you see after a GAA match holding up some ugly child behind the commentator as its for sale

I was waiting for this thread to start. It was hilarious. Something you would expect from a crowd of 10 year olds.

They looked like something out of a zombie movie. Some of them didn't move an inch for the whole interview

The youngfella that was in the bottom right corner looked a bit psycho!

Thank god somebody felt the same. The guy on the bottom left covered in sweat with a red face. He looked pissed and the young guy in the yellow tie to the bottom right.

    None of them moving. Why?

    Why are they there?

What benefit are they giving or getting?

They do that every year, bunch of power hungry parasites.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,175 ✭✭✭chamlis

I was thinking the same. I think the lot of them were creeping Davin-Power out tbh. He mashed his words a few times :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,338 ✭✭✭✭Busi_Girl08

You could see how insanely uncomfortable most of them looked.

I'd say some producer just managed to drag a load of people over in front of the camera, just to maybe make it look like Fianna Fail supporters are united or whatever.

Some people probably didn't want anyone to know they were there...my money's on the guy on the bottom left.

Worked like a charm, managed to make FF's look even more ridiculous!!

It looked like what the Irish team's changing room would look like if they lost tonight.
All that was missing to completely fill out the mood was the sillouhette of a hanging body in the background.

Congratulations RTE, once again have you surpassed even your own stupidity and made yourselves into a joke.

Fianna Fail and Blubbery Lips...self explanetory really...

Ah, the FF faithful, what were they trying to do, influence the reporters reporting? :)

Thats the future folks. the FF party machine getting their mush in anywhere!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 444 ✭✭schween

I'm guessing they are trying to make it look like when the crowd is in a stand behind a US president.
They looked appalling. Imagine if that was your dad.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,992 ✭✭✭✭gurramok

Rte shouldn't have allowed that crowd stand behind the reporter at peak hour news. Its as if he wasn't allowed to report anything critical due to imtimidation perceived or not, it was just ridiculous.

I agree, but isn't there normally just the reporter and the cameraman.
Not a lot they could do,I would imagine.

    /Open to correction here.

Plenty of party conferences have been reported from by reporters with a distant crowd in the background without any party faithful gathered so close to the reporter.

Those fella's were so close to the reporter on RTE news peak hr, that Mugabe would of been proud of them :d

It was hilarious, comedy gold. It was like they were just let out of the local home for the bewildered...real Father Ted stuff and David Davenpower's wooden delivery just added to the comedy.

He was initially out of of shot but gradually shuffled slowly into shot, glancing at the monitor to check his positioning.

    Scary.

    What were RTE thinking?

The guy with the red tie to the bottom left was the real star of this for me. What a pack of clowns.

RTE's streaming media servers appear to have fallen over under the strain.
This got a good airing on NewsTalk earlier today, so I'd imagine there are a lot of people trying to view the item.

I have no doubt it'll appear on YouTube in due course. :D

I saw this on last nights bulletin, and felt sure that the good people of AH would pick up on the sight of these dribbling redneck yes-men.

Thank you all for not disappointing :)

As an aside, has it been tubed yet? We really need to get this out there.

The same sort of tits turn up at the Galway Races every year, with their mouths open and gormless expressions on their faces, standing behind what ever sports journalist is reporting from there.

Hang on a minute, Galway Races.......Fianna Fail......
