    Thongs!!

    Without a doubt.

Fcukin things are so unflattering to the average Irish gal with the crotch band jammed right up the arse crack, and smelling like Planters peanuts.

    Pyjamas.
What a turn off to see them half fitting the wearer.
And not in a sexy way.
Banish them forever off our streets.

Goodness, how can one generic piece of underwear be unflattering to a whole race of women?? :p

So you want them banned? Obviously only seen a hot girl in one in a magazine, or a movie. :D

    Those fcuking ugg boots.
Girls wearing tracksuit bottoms and ugg boots.
    People wearing scarves indoors.
    Those gay "Torres'' mullets

Uggs. For the love of God. Uggs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,226 ✭✭✭taram

+1 from me too on the skinny jeans and pumps, especially since half the feet I see in the pumps look all crusty from the pumps not fitting properly, disgusting!
    Very low cut pants
Crocs, particularly those who wear them with socks
    Sandals in general with socks
Dirty shoes that wreck an otherwise nice outfit
Kids dressing like whores or gangsters (single diamond ears on 9 year old boys :O)

    Thongs!!

    I'm officially turning into an Aussie - I immediately thought;
"what's wrong with thongs? I wear them all the time there's nothing wrong with them?!" Aka flip flops.. (which now seems really odd to say out loud :p).

    Uggs
Skinny Jeans - and yes I agree, I hate when paired with those ballet style flat pumps.
    Toe 'cleavage'.
    Dinner plate sized sunglasses.
Poker straight GHD hair with very obvious OTT blonde highlights.
    Slouch boots.
Handbags carried around in a very affected manner in the nook of the elbow, with arm and hand flopping about in a most pretentious way - when clearly there's ample strap for bag to be slung over shoulder and carried correctly.
    Gladiator sandals/heels.

    Skinny jeans and pumps

Jeans that the bottom of the legs drag in the muck and wet and get all torn.
That really drives me spare. I think it's giving me a breakdown.

    Skinny jeans and pumps

Uggs - hate them, unless they are worn at home as slippers in which case they are very comfy and acceptable!:p

+1 on the bag hanging from the elbow. It has happened me on occassion when my bag has slipped down from my shoulder and I raise my arm to let it catch in the crook of the elbow (I'm making this sound very complicated lol) but while it's hanging there for the moment or two, I feel like the biggest plonker ever.:o

    Womens trousers.
I know it's a generalisation, a huge sweeping generalisation but...women are more attractive in a dress or skirt then they do in trousers, pants, jeans, slacks or whatever you wish to call them.
Trousers are (again, in general) unflattering to a woman. Practicle they may be but they just are not as attractive, alluring or flattering to a woman as a dress.
Did I mention that I am only generalising here?

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

Why so much hatred for UGGS? They're uber comfortable (real ones that is, can't imagine from the way people walk in the fake ones that they're all that comfortable) and so warm.

Eh, hello? Socks with sandals on the middle-aged men of our fair isle, why? Why? So very wrong...

Not when you see dirty looking fake tan on their bare feet :p I've seen it LOADS of times and it's put me off the look!

All my pants end up like this, I buy a 30 inch leg and it's still too long :( Yes, I need to learn to sew :D

My hatred of Uggs is more that most people have ones worn sideways at the bottom from pennys that are disgusting from the rain, or wear them with tracksuits tucked into them. Seen white fluffy pair with fake tan all around the inside. :O They are mighty comfy though, have robbed my sister's a few times :)

Harem pants - WTF are these things and why would anyone in their right mind wear them?

Cat suits - they were hideous in the 80's, they're even more hideous now.

Neon 80's colours - see above

Stone washed denims - see above

Basically any clothes that were repulsive in the 80's but that people think by some miracle will have become attractive in the last 20 years.

A lot of girls wore Harem Pants when I lived in Malta. That was due to the Libyan influences on the country. Not so sure about Ireland. (aside from performances involving Aladdin) :)

Then again MC Hammer is back in the news. Anything's possible.

Are "pumps" the same as "dolly" shoes, or do have the completely wrong end of the stick?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,037 ✭✭✭conf101

Uggs!! Get rid of the damn things!!

Also, I don't object to skinny jeans but there are too many people wearing them who clearly can't pull them off.

Ankle boots, pointed toe anythings, man Uggs, anything leopard print or neon, those jean print leggings and the leather effect ones, shorts that aren't worn with tights, anything high waisted.

    Uggs (especially crappy Penneys ones)
Skinny jeans on anyone bigger than a size 14
    Wet-look leggings
    Abercrombie/AE/Hollister
    Shorts with tights
    GAA shirts

Why don't they make clothes for normal sized people, there's loads of people who are 5' to 5'3''/5'4'' who can't get their length.

I think I'd have to agree with this, I am 5'6" and own a pair of short leg jeans that's a perfect leg length.

Sporting jerseys in uni's and colleges. For some reason I can't stand it. Everybody does it. It's like being inside a sports shop. From the GAA, soccer, rugby etc etc etc....they are all there. Does my head in sometimes.

Jeans with "worn effect" areas down legs/at groin.

Sports clothes worn when not playing or supporting sport, esp GAA jerseys worn by beer bellied, sunburned Irishmen (and women!!!!) abroad.

    Dirty clothes.

Guys in stripy shirt, casual blazer/jacket thing and jeans combo. Boring!

Girls in vest tops, leggings, ballet pumps, statement belt, a few scarves hanging off them, carefully disheveled hair. Its been done.

Low cut trousers on girls with love handles (which is most Irish girls unfortunately)

Sweater worn over shirt with big collar and cuffs sticking out. Ok on some, but most people look all lumpy. Needs to be sleek to work.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 333 ✭✭Chowburger

Skinny jeans on anyone bigger than a size 14

That's a pretty unfair generalisation. I've always thought that pulling off skinny jeans depends on being well-proportioned rather than, well, skinny.

I'm with everyone on the UGGs, though. I also wish people wouldn't wear leggings with shirts that don't cover their bums — it looks as though they never learned to dress themselves, and just forgot to put on a skirt in the morning.

I know what you mean! Nearly every second person in UCD wear all that Hollister, Abercrombie nonsense. So annoying! And UGG boots are just plain ugly! I also hate the way one sees a group of D4 lads and they are all wearing the exact same Canterbury bottoms! Talk about conformity! ;) lol And those flowery shorts... I won't even go there... :/

    Abercrombie/American Eagle

    BIG
    WORDS
    LIKE THIS
    ON A SHIRT
    (Save The Rave etc.)

    'Cantos' tracksuit bottoms

    Lads in V neck t-shirts.

Those topman t-shirts, you know the ones. metrosexual 'two for a tenner' fashion mishaps.

Lads wearing v-neck Lyle and Scott tops with nothing on underneath. Disgrace.

    Filthy plimsolls

Shutter-shades on lads/Glasses you dont need.

'Ironic' tshirts. Blokes bragging about being a lesbian for example.

    Bogball tops.

Those uggs, you lot are mad.
    Wet-look leggings

    Disagree completely :pac:

I'm guilty of the soccer jersey on occasion, although wearing a St. Pats jersey to college is more so a warning North-Sideism wont be tolerated than a 'Come on the lads!' statement.

The usual - Uggs and Crocs, but ESPECIALLY the Croc familes. Why make your husband and kids have matching ugly shoes?! (I'm assuming it's women who make them be worn, no man would ever volunteer that idea.)
Tracksuits, especially matching velour sets, out side the gym/home.
Knee/mid calf length leggings, make most look short.
Most neon clothing. "New rave" died man, let it go. And take those ridiculous shutter shades with you.
Baggy, kind of combat style jeans on boys.
Skinny jeans with normal t shirts. Even if you're skinny, don't bare the midriff. This is Ireland, not the bleedin' OC.

I have recently discovered the joys of hem tape (or whatever it's called). Basically you turn up your trousers to the required length, and iron hem tape into the hem and it glues it. I've been working my way through my wardrobe adjusting my trousers to my preferred length.

i quite like the skinny jeans/ballet pump look although only on girls less than a size 14(nothing against girls that size or bigger, but skinny jeans can be terribly unflattering, i don't even wear them myself and i'm a 12).

Uggs are amazingly cosy when it's freeezing out!

I would like to see all that neon **** gone tbh; was in penneys today and it's still around!also the pjs outdoors-they're for sleeping, not walking around the city in!!!!
