    As the title says really,

I watched Never back down the other day and I liked it but as I was watching it I even said to my OH that there is no way I should be enjoying it.

As I thought about it further I thought of films such as the recent "Count of Monte Cristo" even though it wouldn't be seen as a bad film its prob in my top 10 films of all time, same goes for "Any given sunday" now that I think about it.

Have you got any films that people in general think is rubbish but you like?

    Supertroopers.

From the cover of the DVD it looks like a third rate Police Academy knock-off. Critically it didn't do too well at all (I think Michael Dwyer called it 'a cinematic crime' or something).

But it's hilarious. It just is really really funny. I love it.

    Shawshank Redemption.

Seen it on Video. The parents rented it at the time and i thought nah i dont think ill watch this. A film about a guy who is locked up in a prison in the 1930 s (or what ever time it was). No thank you. I thought ill just watch the opening 10 to 15 minutes and see what its like. How wrong was I. One of my favorite movies ever.

The Wicker Man remake starring Nic Cage. Wasn't supposed to be funny but turned out to be comedy of the year.

A second vote for Supertroopers here.

Plenty of films that I know are absolutely awful but I enjoy them anyway: Top Gun, Bring It On etc.

I know exactly what the OP means here. The Quiet Man is a perfect example, given anything else I like I should hate this movie but you can't help loving it most likely because you grew up watching it as a Sunday matinee on bog 1, back then it didn't even have a number as there was no bog 2!

    Empire Records..

Starring a bunch of whiny self-important teenagers with "problems"... but it's a gem!

Can quote the film practically in it's entirety!

I loved Last Days of Disco and told a bunch of my friends that it was cool and they all came back to me saying they were never going to take a movie recommendation from me again! Don't remember a big deal when it came out either about 10 years ago, so I'm probably on my own :o

hhhhmmm one off the top of my head would be Driving Miss Daisy saw it back in the early 90ies and being a teenager, I thought to myself this is going to be a complete load of sentimental twaddle to my amazement as it turned out to be my favourite movies ever.

oH Yes, The Transporter 1&2. Everytime i see it advertised i give it a dogs life, then as soon as it starts i'm watching it, its so bad its...good. Desperate movie,
Who here can flip an Audi in the air and un-hook a bomb from the underside of a car using a cranes hook? I think a bunch of 10year olds wrote that movie, seems like something i would have done with my hotwheels back when i was a nipper.

Deathproof. I avoided it for a year because of you lot then I was gifted it for Christmas and I've watched it four times since. I bloody love it. The soundtrack, the humour, the annoying bitches, the car chase, everything.

    Legally Blonde....
Am very proud that tho im a woman, I have a severe hatred for Chick Flicks...but have to admit, ive seen this one a few times!
Maybe its just Reese Witherspoon, theres more to her than meets the eye( Walk the Line for example!)

The same DOES NOT go for Legally Blonde 2- i must add!!

    Terminator 3

I know it was crap, but it was arnie, and it was terminator, the first time to see them in the cinema, i loved it

    Troy

Widely critised, I cannot help but love this film to death.

    Alien V Predator series

They are tripe, buts its aliens, and its predators, I cannot help myself.

    Remember the Titans (2000)

I found this film extremely cringing to the point were it was hard to watch but at the same time I enjoyed watching it.

Star Wars Episode I. I liked it when it came out and I still think its a pretty decent scifi/space opera but still feel that it is one of the weakest star wars films when compared to the rest.

I did too. I found a new appreciation of Meryl Streep.

    WALL-E...

I really thought it was a ''kids'' movie. It wasn't until I got it for Christmas that I decided to sit down and watch it. What a movie... Totally brilliant.

    Big Daddy

Not that into Adam Sandler comedies, but I think this is genius at times. And it also has some of the most heartbreaking scenes ever in a comedy film (when the Child Services are taking the little boy away from Adam Sandler; and the scene in the courtroom when the boy is crying because Adam Sandler cannot be his 'dad').

    Friday The 13th (2009)

Oh Jeez, was so bad it was good.... It was so funny. It's indefensible tripe, but God help me I thought it was priceless. Plus, some of the girls in it were incredibly hot!:D

    Oh.... and:

    8 Mile

I hate hip hop, rap etc. but this movie was superlative. Eminem was actually great at acting.

    Same here man.

I remember seeing the trailers and thought 'Jesus, that looks rubbish' especially as I hate all that American quarterback jock nonsense.....hate it with a passion.

Then, years later, I saw it on TV and was surprised that I actually quite enjoyed it.

Another one for me is What Women Want! with Mel Gibson!.....absolute chick flick, but embarassingly, I liked it.

    :o
