    Sorry, by bad, my point was that not knowing how something works, does not make advances in it any less scientific. How else are we supposed to find out how things work after all?

    I may have missed it, but did somebody other than yourself claim otherwise? You appear to be conflating a technological advance that is not fully understood with a scientific advance that isn't fully understood.

    My point was that both used the methodoligy of science to arrive at their respective outcomes, so in this case the technological advance is a scientific advance as well.
