I love pancakes, its best if you have loads of pancakes and loads of different topping, honey, syurp, butter, lemon, sugar and just eat them all differently.

Side note; there was a particular flat chested girl that lived near me when growing up, her nickname was Pancake Tuesday, cant help thinking about her today wonder did she get a boob job

ironically I think I made pancakes last tuesday as well but out of a pure urge to have pancakes - I guess if you go enough years celebrating pancake tuesday it becomes ingrained in your subconscious like moist gooey batter mixed with mashed banana and chocolate chips...mmmm. Hey is it a good idea to substitute sugar in the batter recipe with maple syrup?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,196 ✭✭✭Crumble Froo

im gonna operate this one on irish time. tomorrow, i buy flour, and then.. oh god, let me at them :D

i got the lemon and sugar ready, my (twisted, sick, kiwi) boyfriend has maple syrup. uuuggghhh.

Pancake mix + Red food colouring + Yellow food colouring = Radioactive Pancakes

The best colouring to use is the stuff for Indian curry's:

Mashed banana is a must. makes them a little thicker and a little gooier as opposed to fluffy but it adds great flavor.

Try using buttermilk and a pinch of bakingsoda in the batter. Delicious with cheeses.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 86,729 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

bakingsoda reacts strangely with lemon but in the final product it gives it a nice zing when you add 2 tsp of both into the pre-batter. vanilla extract is also good.

Im not going to have time to get any :(

oh heavens yes. however, if you only leave it for a couple of hours instead of overnight/for a week whatever... it turns out looking like.. well... our word of the weekend was 'yeast'.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,461 ✭✭✭Queen-Mise

Ok pancakes to die for, the fillings I use include:

    lemon & sugar obviously
and then any mix of these together - creme fraiche, cinnamon, nutella, bananas, apple sauce,

my personal favourite is CF, cinnamon & apple sauce.

I am back from tescos from getting all my ingredients :D:D

Well im no connaisseur but i believe keeping it in the freezer turns it into some magical kind of liquid and wrap a pancake around it to keep on topic and its win win! :D

    I hate everyone here :(

I'm in college with no money! so not only am I not able to make pancakes but I can't even get lunch or go home for lunch!

I'll just have make up for it later, although I do fear I may look something like this afterwards

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,496 ✭✭✭LolaLuv

Not much of a pancake fan myself, but I ate one anyway. I"m not sure it compared to getting blind drunk and showing my tits to strangers in dark alleys in exchange for cheap beads, but sure it'll do.
