Sorry to hear. Any complaints about the cops?

dont know how i or any of my friends did not get arrested when we were younger.

As a cop my only advice to people (any my family and friends) no matter how drunk or aggressive you are. If you see a cop or a cop comes up and talks to you... just answer very politley, yes sir no sir, even try and walk away saying sorry sorry.

Gardai do not want to deal with polite people, or somebody who wants to walk away from a situation.

If you stay there shouting/fighting or blaming the cops..... you are likely to get arrested.

    My 2c.

Chris Rock also explains it very well..

Caught one time pissing in town and ended up in court.
Another time we were just messing like fools going down the street robbing cones or something and the guards came and asked me what my name was.."eh...Rob...O' Brien..."
And where are you from then, Rob?
    "...Meath"
    And where abouts in Meath?
    "eh........."
    *Handcuffed and thrown into car*

Spent about 4 hours asleep in a cell and they just let me go then.

Ah youth, how I miss thee..

Really? So what happened to ya?

I was picked up a couple of times when i was younger, had a couple of "incidents". Happily it's all gone away now.:)

Well, I was drunk and being somewhat cheeky with the guqrds after they had already arrested my friend and they gave the usual

''if you don't move on now you little **** you'll end up in the back of the car to with your smartass buddy''

Being the drunken genius I was I responded

''Ah well, sure if Dave is all alone in there I might aswell join him''

Walked over to the car and hopped in the back myself beside my mate, gaurds didn't have a clue what I was doing. I thought they'd laugh and let me off, I got a JLO for underage drinking and drunk and disorderly:rolleyes:

Never got arrested, but just yesterday I was doing 80 in the 60 zone on the M50 southbound when I saw a Garda car going northbound.

Dunno if he saw me, but it was a close call none the less !

I've been a nervous wreck ever since

Even if you are still arrested anyway, given the farcical courts in Ireland, you'd probably get away with it!
(was reading on todays Metro (page 2, top right: CLICK HERE) about the lad who only stole 40,000 Euro - got caught and then got a suspended sentence!)

Rob a pen though and you will get 6 months! Go figure...!

Pighead got arrested for singing. Yep thats right. Singing. Ronan Keating has been getting away with it for years but the first time Pighead belts out a tune in public he gets the old "Don't be fcuking singing son or I'll arrest you" from a member of An Garda Siochana. Sang back to him:
"Why would you arrest me, are you trying to test me?
You're trying to kill the music. Why don't you try to use it?

He didn't like that song one little bit and arrested Pighead on the spot. Dragged him up O'Connell St, barging past the drug dealer at the corner of Henry St and the gang of boyos boxing the head of each other outside the Dublin Bus building.
That was the night the music died.

My little brother bought drink in an offie when he was 17. No fake ID or anything, just chanced his arm and they gave it to him. He was arrested and charged. 2 u/c Garda, one in the offo, and one outside. He never had a chance!!

I'd hope so. He spent every friday night for the next while down the Garda station as part of the JL scheme. Thing is, he was kinda nerdy back then, as in him and his mates hung around in the house, drawing and ****. He deserved it because he was breaking the law, but I'm sure there are better ways for a Garda to spend his 3 hours on a friday night!

Funny story to go with it. When the Garda rang the house the next day, I pretended to be my dad, hoping it was just a smack on the wrist. Turned out they wanted him down the local station with a parent. Had to break both pieces of news to my dad. At least it got the heat off my bro!

So does anyone know for sure if you have to fill out a Garda Vetting Form for the Garda Vetting Unit in Thurles, is it just convictions that show up on it or do arrests show up on it to...

No, because I'm not a retard.

Once. For thinking running up a line of parked cars would be great fun when drunk. Gards were parked on the other side of the road watching me!
