I want to know is there anyone out there that actually thinks freckles are attractive?? Not that you just don't mind them, but actually prefer girls with freckles?

I have a lot, and i wish sometimes i could just scrape them off, i hate them so much, and they really get me down. Not that i'd be much better looking without them, but it might help. People seem to say they're cute, but i think they're just gross!

Oh man, i got so much grief in school over those poxy things as a kid.
By the time i'd hit my late teens, the ones on my face seemed to have mostly grown together, which was grand because it made me look slightly tanned, which is what i needed cos i was as pale as a ghost. :)

It's a hard question to answer because it's really horses for courses and personal preference. It'll suit some people over others.

Girls with freckles can be very attractive. Have gone out with girls with and without. Sometimes it adds to the beauty of someones face, ie they look better showing freckles instead of covering them with make up. I like the natural look!

Well to each their own, but I absolutely love my gf's freckles. They ARE cute. Especially in the face, around the nose or on the cheeks. <3

but i still think they're gross

I have to say, i'm a sucker for freckles above a girls chest. :D

When I was younger my best friend had lots of freckles and I was so jealous cause I did not have any  I thought and still think freckles are beautiful :)

But as always, different things makes different people tick. Some will find freckles attractive and some will not. Not much else to say really.

Never had a knock-back from a man because I was too freckly! TBH, when I read the title of the thread initially, I was very surprised to see that it was about freckles. I don't think men consider things like freckles when they meet a girl - they're looking at smile, looks, personality and confidence. I think your lack of confidence is your bug-bear, not your freckles.

Freckles? Rawr!!! So cute- I can't get enough of them;)

If you're obsessing about them, there's a good chance they're affecting your confidence which is unattractive...

Totally agree. If you're obsessed with any part of your body or feature, I think it can show. I have loads of freckles and can't remember any time where they were anything but complimented.. In fact most memories of comments about my freckles were about challenges to count them all!!! *which can be great fun.. ;)*

If you really hate your freckles there are ways of fading them out - wear sunscreen, which will help, but my advice is just have fun with them.

I have one shaped like a capital 'D' which my initial which I think is hilarious- also have another favourite freckle over my lip. I used to hate them but love them now.

Also have one on the palm of my left hand which i hear is unusual - my OH has one exactly on the same spot on his palm!!!

RAWR? really :) Well it's not like it's something i openly obsess about, and i don't even wear make up to try cover them up, so how would anyone even know i'm bothered about them...?

I do that. i wear sunscreen everyday. think they've faded a little on my face in the last year but not really noticable. You know what i really hate is the freckles on my legs. I have good legs otherwise but never ever ever wear skirts cos i hate them. they never fade at all. even though they've been well hidden for years.... In fact the darkest one i have is on the back of one leg.

well you see all these girls with their perfect skin, and skin tone and dolled up and lovely looking going out. so i hardly feel like i can match up to that. pale freckly legs. not that i mind being pale. i don't. it's just the freckles. I've avoided wearing skirts because of this, even in the summer. which is difficult when it's really hot. but i do it.

ya i looked up that stuff too, lots of people, online are saying it doesn't really work. can get stuff on prescription that's supposed to be stronger, but i don't think any doctor would actually prescribe something like that for me. might ask sometime. I've tried lemon juice, and sour cream. neither did anything.

Freckles can be cute, most kids wont see it that way but as adults this changes in a lot of cases..

I'm naturally freckly and the men in my life have loved it. The only men who don't like it seem to be very fair men, and maybe they don't like it on themselves.

If freckles are your look you just have to embrace it. There is nothing as bad as a natural freckly who tries to cover it with foundation or fake tan. Thats like a black person trying to lighten their skin. Sad and weird.

Try dating foreigners for an ego kick, they love freckles!

no way? i think they're lovely. alot of my friends have these freckles all over their face and they just cover them with make up. i'd love some on my nose.

however, i don't like freckles all over the body.
    face is good though.

I used to avoid wearing skirts because I didn't like my legs or wasn't used to wearing them. Then I got psoriasis and wearing skirts equaled questions about what happened my legs (little red dots everywhere will do that) so I avoided wearing skirts without tights. Now I look at people happy out in skirts in summer and wonder what the hell was I doing not wearing skirts when my skin was near perfect and I was thinner :) Your freckles will get lighter in time but they won't go and life is too short to overheat just to hide them.

I'm trying to think of my friends and who has freckles and other than one who I know hides them with makeup (the only reason I know she has them) but I can't cause I just don't pay attention. In terms of freckles I have them on my face (they go mad every summer if I've seen sun) and arms etc.

I have LOADS of freckles, mostly on my arms, face was covered in them as a kid but they're not as noticeable on my face anymore unless i'm just back from the sun. I don't really think about them on my arms anymore! it's part of what makes me me! couldn't imagone not having freckles on my arms. i'd never really be paranoid about them! and i wouldn't notice them on others!

yes....I admit... i've started to get them on my legs and it bothers me a little bit. theres not eve n HALF as many as on my arms but i really would hate if they got bigger, darker and more noticeable. at the moment i don't have enough for them to be noticeable.

I have freckles and I HATE THEM. Always have. Since I was 14 I have worn sun cream everyday without fail and now (in my late 20's) they are pretty much gone on my face. I look very white, but nothing make-up and bronzer cant hide. People think I over react about them but I think they are awful and could never think somone with freckles is attractive. If you hate them that much you can get a chemical face peel. As far as I know it takes a layer of skin off your face which would leave you with fresh un-blemished skin underneath... just something to think about.

But I did chicken!! ah sure we're all special then!

But seriously OP, I wouldn't suggest anything drastic like chemical treatments or some such. If you really take care of your skin, keep out of the sun, your freckles should fade over time. Mine definitely have as I am very conscious of my skin in the sun..

But I do look very pale without them, and make up and bronzer I find can look worse than my natural skin tone with some freckles as 'highlights'.

I seem to remember that they're called Sommersprossen in German which translates to 'sun's kisses'... could be pulling that from my beehive though.. lol

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 166,026 ✭✭✭✭LegacyUser

Thanks for all the support, but i think it might go a bit deeper than i thought. Hearing so many people say they really like them doesn't seem to make a difference to my opinion on them. Even though i used to get noticed when i wore a skirt, but that still didn't do enough to make me feel i could be comfortable.

But thanks again to everyone for the feedback.... :)

Almost ;) translated literally 'summer's sprouts'.

But yeah, as I said, I find them v. cute, and I associate them also with warmth and sun. I love to see them popping up in spring. :) It means good times.

So do you think freckles on the legs are ok? cos it used to make me feel good about myself to wear skirts, cos i'd always get attention and whistles etc. which i know some might say i shouldn't feel i need. but i do sometimes. instead of going totally unnoticed for a night out. Only stopped wearing skirts when it started to really get to me....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 166,026 ✭✭✭✭LegacyUser

I feel your pain OP! I have a few moles on my legs and never wear skirts because I think they look so ugly. I actually think noone really notices but I still don't like showing my legs.

Freckles make you skin look so much better than it is. As they distract from blemishes.
I'd hate to be without mine and focusing on my pores instead.

I even had an ex who used to try and grow freckles on me. :S

Love freckles! So sexy!:D Anything that makes a girl different from all the other plain Jane's around her is great! Face/chest/legs all good!

I don't understand why a lot (not all!) girls want to dress the same or look the same as their peers when it's the differences that are what make people attractive.

do you want to be the type of person who lets other people decide how they are going to live their life?

Imagine you were walking down the street with your brother (if you have one) and he saw a girl in a skirt and started whistleing at her. You'd be mortified, right? So are you going to let that type of person tell you what you can and can't wear? Wouldn't be for me, I have to say. I'll wear my hotpants god damn it! *shakes fist at builders*
