honestly didn't think it was worth watching. Your man who presented it seemed to treat anyone who lifted weights as a freak.

Well his series is essentially about finding the worlds X-est Y (where X is an adjective and Y is a noun, think strongest boy, enhanced woman, etc) so he is pretty much finding freaks in the world, for lack of a better term.

I am for kids being fit and healthy and running around rather than being parked in front of the PS3, but that 7 year old kid weightlifting was a bit much.

The scariest was how much his dad was pushing and pushing him and their little hand slap routine and all. Clearly the father was pushing the kid to do it more than supporting him and that's just wrong IMO.

    Scarryyyy

The dad´s the problem IMO. There´s a fine line between encouraging and taking advantage of the power position you have as a father to force your child to do something.

    I agree

He kept sayin he's doin it because he never had parental interest, but he never mentioned asking them if they wanted to , or still want to lift weights

It was a good point about how the Dad only showed the kid affection when he achieved something in weightlifting

I think the 2nd Russian girl's Dad has a terrible attitude

even worse was the twin girls who said they would like to do something else like modelling but now their bodies are only built for lifting heavy weights (at age 15 they think this)

The other girl (whose dad coached her) was quite cute :D

Having a 3 year old lift 12 - 16 kilos and training her 4 hours a day, every day is just plain wrong.

The show was ridiculous. He wasn't looking for the worlds strongest kid. He was looking for a kid with a decent level of strength and a good story.

Richard Sandrak has never been the strongest boy in the world. Might have the freakiest abs, but that's it.

Those two girls, not even close. Tho they were probably the most viable candidates. Chinese junior women are dominating the field.

Didn't see the first segment with the 8 year old boys so can't comment.

The girl trained by her dad talking about how she could go to the olympics? After struggling with a 100kg squat on the show? No fcuking way.

    Tabloid television. Nothing more.

well looking at the series it should be obvious that it wasn't a documentary by a specialised production team! it was a prime(ish) time show as part of a mainstream tv series...

it did highlighting some important points though; i had to feel sorry for some of those kids... thankfully young kids can't start competiting here...

She did. And while I don't think it was in any way good for her I was ridiculously jealous of her lower body mobility.
