Ya, €32 (€35.70 incl tax/chg) per night avg for the Gold Coast on hotels.com now, so be sure to look around before you book Al. I'd still prefer to stay in Ballys for ~€46.70 incl tax/chg due to the centre strip location, and prety much the same price for the Flamingo.

Whats Ballys like Dom? Looking like Ballys, Flamingo or Harrahs at the mo.

Don't think I'll be going this year :(! However, one of our regular players has got a deal for return flights to vegas from Dublin/Shannon plus ten nights accommodation in Circus Circus for €800 per person!! Its valid anytime from now until Oct he reckons. I don't know the airline etc as I was just talking to him briefly.

Imo thats a serious offer and come Sept my mind might be changed :)

from what i remember last year it went into the prizepool, the house takes 3% from the overall prizepool for dealers etc , thats why tipping from tournament winnings is very limited over there.

Is there a standard for tipping in tournaments in LV if you finish ITM, or if you finish in the top few places?

They would have to pay me to stay in Circus Circus. Friend of mind took a cheap deal there a few years ago, horrible spot.

Pay the extra for somewhere centre strip, at the very least you'll save on taxi's especially if staying for a couple of weeks.

By the way, imo best food spot is Ellis Island. 1 block behind the flamingo unreal cheap with free $5 blackjack bet and all cooked to order.

Thinkin of headin over there for the 1st time at the end of june for 9 nights , checked accomodation there & saw the Sahara hotel for 9 nights - €165. That seems dirt cheap .
Anyone know what this hotel is like - location / comfort wise ?

It's almost opposite the Stratosphere at the very very top of the Strip, terrible location really and a very long walk down to the Centre of the Strip were the main places are. I played a cheap tournament there a few years ago and it was pretty run down and not much life about it. The rollercoaster there that goes backwards was probably the best thing about it.

to be avoided so , the sahara & stratosphere are the two cheapest hotels around i reckon , must be a very crap location , i cant seem to find any flights cheaper than €620 at the moment , the search continues.......

Ye Rory, they do but at a charge. It was like $15(I think) a day just to connect using your lap top in your room. And there isn't many other options either because internet access is much harder to find than you'd think.
