I promise you, you won't get it until Tuesday at the earliest.

Even when they ship from Jersey it goes through the UK first as far as I know and there have been reports that some of their stuff is being shipped from Eastern Europe recently.

The amount of times this is said is amazing. Once ever could I not find a game on release day and that was GTA San Andreas for the PS2.

Unfortunately it is not going to be released in Ireland due to the violent content of the game. The Irish Ratings body have done a massive crack down on violence in video games since GTA IV managed to pass through their net unaffected.

You will have to buy it on the black market on Henry St and they'll probably charging upwards of €100 per copy due to the hype the game is currently producing.

Thankfully I'm living in the UK and no such restrictions apply to this game. I have mine pre-ordered on Amazon.

No, sure why would someone start a thread on the CE edition when there'd already but a thread on the CE edition in there. If all the fighting game threads where in the 1 place , there'd be no need for the same thread to pop up in the games section...the 360 section and the ps3 section...multiple times, due to other thread getting lost mixed in with stuff about other games...

This is about the COLLECTORS EDITION of the game , not the game itself. The collectors edition is limited and already sold out on most places online.

Have you used them both or are you...

    A) Trying to justify an expensive pruchase.
    B) Taking reviewers word for it.

Pre-Booked mine in HMV Dundrum (old Zavvi store). €38.99 is the Pre-Order Price, pretty tasty IMO. Although the RRP is probably 39.99 is it???

Game wouldn't let me Pre-book it today???

We have a games section were multiformat games should be posted yet we still have multiple threads on the same game spread across 3 forums. A fighting forum will just add another place for more threads discussing the same thing.

Well I think the main selling point of the most expensive stick is that it's an exact replica of the stick on the front of the arcade machine, right down to the parts used. The parts for the other stick are more generic and cheaper but still high quality. Basically get the more expensive one if you have money to burn or will be hauling it off to compete in high level tournaments.

I'm a pad player m8. I just know how to read. Just talk to anyone whos into arcade sticks and they'll tell you. Arcade stick users seem really fickle about what parts the buttons are and all sorts of stuff, the expensive stick is aimed at those people, who'd normally buy a stick and mod the feck outa it till its up to their taste, this is meant to be that outa of the box, while also being the most modifiable stick released.

The cheaper one is just that, cheaper, less features, cheaper parts bla bla bla.

I mean I know what your thinking and I'd be thinking so too if I hadnt spent the past year reading street fighter forums, "its just a stick with 6/8 buttons, why does it cost so much" etc etc, but it would seem arcade sticks a some what of a delicacy for arcade stick users...

No it'll add a place where all fighting discussion should take place, so there'd be no confusion as to where to post. Also means we can chat about more in depth stuff that wouldnt suit a general area.

Note to people with both consoles - I played this on 360 earlier but like any game that relies very heavily on the d-pad I found it almost unplayable on the 360 pad.

Both versions seem to play and the look exactly the same.

The left stick is just as bad as the d-pad though.

It works fine yeah but that doesnt stop it being crap in comparison(although that could just be me hating using analogue for fighting games)

    its not

as ive said a few times, theyve tweaked the input system to be more forgiving, which allows for crap dpads and analog sticks

    the game plays just fine

    you will be

once the game has an idea what youre trying, itll do the move

it doesnt have to be 100% accurate, id say 65% will pull off the move

The online is actually great. basic enough, but fun out. I was lulled into a false sense of sercurity by easily winning my first 3 games, have now had my ass handed to me in every other game since!

Has anyone that preordered the game in Play.com received it today?
From my experience with Play this is very unlikely...

I get frustrated with games at the best of times, as my countless broken controllers will tell ya, but Jesus, Seth has to be the most annoying and frustrating last boss ever. Driving absolutely ape, it's coming close to ruining the game for me, otherwise I'm loving it. But I'm two minutes away from throwing my controller across the room, turning off the PS3 and never play SFIV again! Damn temper!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,822 ✭✭✭✭K.O.Kiki

The trick is to NEVER ever press Start to continue.

This is how you get the most from your time & credits.

Don't continue, restart arcade mode, and gradually build up your skills.

    More on Arcade Culture.

When doing the Arcade Mode I get interruptions all the time from people wanting to play online. How can this be turned off?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,661 ✭✭✭✭Helix

on the title screen, i think you press one of the top shoulder buttons, or select and set something or other to no

that sounds utterly vague, but youll know it when you see it

the first time the game turns on it asks you if youd like the mode turned on, but it doenst really tell you that itll wreck your head constantly

Press R1 to bring up the menu for it and disable it there

Never played a street fighter game as a kid, but I like the look of this one (mainly cause I love brightly coloured games :o, all the hype around it ). I'm a bit worried though that since I'll just be using the normal PS3 pad I'll get my ass beaten constantly by guys with arcade sticks and who memorise specific timings and stuff. Is it beginner friendly at all?
