I think since HWIST is going down hill because of general motors talk and for various other reasons, I think this type of thread is long over due is it not?

Mods etc. opinions first, then talk away:D

I'd say you're right, talking & OT bickering is ruining the "flow". I don't think this'll stop it though - as long as someone gives an opinion, someone else'll shoot it down.

I think that if you read the thread thus far you will agree with me that a "general talk" thread is never going to work :pac:

    From the other thread...

This is pretty special. I deal with bog standard cars everyday so know something out of the ordinary (another 6 A4's and an A3 arrived at the same time). The thread title is "Here's what I saw today" - I saw this today and it's more than likely the only Irish S-Line A4 until Dirty Oil Burner imports his.

Apologies if you've seen one before - I haven't and I'd be surprised if AudiChris has seen an A4 with interior & exterior S-Line packs.

I'm sorry, but there's nothing special about an S-Line. I saw a Titanium Mondeo the other day, should I go back and take a pic of it and post it up? We'll have highline Golf's next...

I think there's a line there between remarkable/rare and droolworthy.

Definitely, but a model spec on a standard car, no matter how rare, is not worthy of a post in that thread. S-lines will be littering the place in another couple of years, it's only a trim level.
Something like the A3 you posted where the customer actually had to make a specific request for a colour not normally in that range is noteworthy, but a trim level on a car is not.

Titanium Mondeo is a standard model in the line up - nothing special about that unless it's blue with a blue interior (been there, done that).

S-Line models are not available in Ireland hence the rarity.

I always wanted to say, how much I hate these stupid safety belt warning lights and beepers in modern cars. They drive you nuts! You only want to drive a car 20 meters on the forecourt, and the whloe thing starts beeping like a heart rate monitor in a hospital.

Stupid warning sounds and lights. I drove a 5 Series last week, with low washer fluid, low petrol, no seat belt on (It was a drive across the forecourt), and there was a blown bulb. I **** you not, the car did this :

    Bong. Bong. Badaling. Bong. Badalingbadalingbongbongbong.

I felt like getting some C4 and just blowing the damn thing up. Badaboom! :D

Was in a Mondeo before with a lad who refused to put on his seatbelt with that beeping noise. Combined with the poxy indicator noise i nearly jumped out the window!!:P

Bloody toyota's are the worst. Doesn't give you a second's peace when you set off and just gets louder and louder, faster and faster.

By the time we get from the front of the building to the back and parked it's almost deafening.

I know we had a thread a few days ago about a relatively cheap M5, but what about this low mileage DB9..90k
    http://www.driving.ie/usedcars/index.cfm?fuseaction=car&carID=1326302
I've noticed that this keeps getting refreshed in Carzone every couple of weeks at a lower price - punter must be under real pressure to liquidate his assets... now if only I can wait a few more months I'll be able to pick it up for a fiver!!

Those yokes havent been valeted or anything yet. Just threw em through a wash before the pics were taken. I know they aint great, but they give people an idea of what they could be looking at, and its the price on most of these okes that will cause people to look.. That vectra is good value.

Anyhow. Enough about my pictures! I mean, someone elses pictures.......:D

Only because its sickeningly sh*te...:pac: Its a dog to drive. Retro leather, that you slide off of when you take a corner. Shiny plastic dash, old interior.

    Mint car for someone...;)

I thought as much that it was a retro fit. The retro fits we usually get done are a very high qualilty. Generally as good as a manufacturers job. I like the Giverny Green too but i'm a bit odd :D

    No comment on the engines:P

Ugh, some one is being a pain in the arse today.

It was meant to get the thread back on the point of pictures. (Albeit in a humourous way). If you'll read the post before it (which you obviously don't read posts, because you will have seen that we moved on from defending Funxy and her cars a page or two before hand, and were now talking about an Audi R.O.R had seen, which is the first one i saw.

As i know my post will prob be deleted the other thread and things did movve on i just want 1 chance to defend myself here. And i hate this because im not a confrontational person at all and dont want to come across as such but it is sometimes hard to keep quiet when being talked about :(

sorry for the rant, just saying what most of us are thinking

Just to let everyone who may be thinking the same know. I am a regualr on Octane. Indeed there was a thread started there last week when i was personally insulted twice by a boards poster. Not surprisingly some people came to my defence which is more then can be said for any mod on boards. Steve is a friend of mine who i actually met on boards.ie not on octane. He is a regular poster here and i am sure if someone was having a go at your friend you might stand up for them? I never even got a chance to defend myself last time around and i can't hold my tongue on this one.

Octane.ie is an enthusiasts site and 2 times in a year a thread has been started about people attacking others on boards.ie. I am sure as you and many other know it's not the most friendliest of places. I would still like to be a part of it but obviously over time it is becoming more apparent that octaners are not welcome here. Can't we just get over this already and talk about cars

I'm sure Chris can post up, but I have the spec sheet for the A4 and A5 and they both have sline available here.

It's expensive at 6k or so for interior and exterior pack and not worth the cost here, but why try to make out you can't spec it? You see hundreds of old model A4s, A3s and A5s in sline on the roads and will see loads of the new models in sline also.

See A4 spec sheet below for proof, that apparently is needed:rolleyes:

+ on that. I dont really know whatr happened, but i know this much. That Lotus is a sweet looking car, belongs in the HWIST thread, and i think that its jealously on alot of peoples parts.

When it comes to motors, every man thinks he knows whats right, and more than likely they dont even work with them. There are alot people who work with cars on here, and know what they are talking about. There are also alot of people on here who like to think they know about cars, so when they are proved wrong, they go on the offensive.

It only seems to happen when it comes to cars, for some odd reason.

So, if your proven wrong, either accept it with good grace, or provide a link to support your argument. Dont go taking swipes like "well..well...your ma" kind of things.

    Thats me done!

I have Audi pricing in front of me now, and i cant see an Sline option.

It's Base, SE, and Sport as far as i can see. Is the sport the same thing? Other than that there aint no Sline on it. Unless its missing a page.

Have a look at the link, sline is just just a spec pack you can add to any base model. The way it's always been done in Ireland.
