    Hi All,
    As a follow on to the other thread, I'm now ready to post details of our April festival.(I'm opening a new thread so that the structures dont get lost in the middle of the old one).

    The Main event is a 3 day event, €250 + €25 reg.(Starts Fri April 24th).(1 hr clock)
    The 2 day side event is €150 + 20 reg. (Starts Sat April 25th). (40 min clock)
    The Sunday 1 day game €100 + €10 reg. (30 min clock)

    I'm very happy to announce that Irish Eyes Poker will sponsor the festival. They are giving me €2,000 to add to the prize-pool. €1,000 of that is going to the boards.ie poker community by way of 2 x €500 prizes:

    1)--Boards.ie last longest in the ME = €500.
    2)--Boards.ie last longest in the 2 day support event = €500.

    Only players with a boards.ie account prior to this thread going up, and have an IrishEyes poker account will be elligible to win the prizes outlined above.
    My family and I are grateful for the support shown to us by mods and members of the boards.ie poker forum and we hope this gesture will show our appreciation in a small way.

    The other €1,000 will be won by my regulars in the same way as above.

    18: All tournaments will be fully dealer dealt by very capable dealers.
    19: There will be a documented list of rules available.
    20: Yes, there will be a tournament director.
    21: TD will have final say in all matters.
    22: Cash game rake will be 5%, capped at €20 per pot.
    €20 or less in pot = no rake.
    Split pot = no rake.
    No Flop = no rake.
    Rake is same for 1-2, 2-5 and 5-10.

    ACCOMADATION.
    The nearest hotel to us is the Eviston House Hotel, New St., Killarney. Its 3 or 4 minutes walk from the club.They offer the following rates for that week-end:
    2 nights B&B== €99 pps.
    3 nights B&B== €135 pps.
    4 nights B&B== €165 pps.

    Their phone number is 064-31640.

    Our normal max capacity is 70, but we are looking at a few things to be able to bring it up to 100/120 if possible. I only posted this tourney a week ago, and already I have nearly 70 names between interested boardies and locals. IMHO, the tourney will sell out. Contact me by pm'ing me here, posting on the thread or phoning on club phone 064-30057 or mobile 087-2833343.
    I might even start a list!!

    But wouldn't the fellows with multiple Boards accounts have an advantage here ;););)

    Seriously Connie, I'm going to be in Killarney on the Thursday/Friday/saturday but won't be able to play. What time on Sunday will the side event start at, might be able to make this.

    Having the 2 x €500 prizes for boardsies is an added bonus.

    Also, the structure to the ME is fantastic with an opening 25/25 level, all the levels added and a 15k stack; this should be a fantastic event.

    I'm looking forward to it now; it starts the day after my birthday so guess what my birthday present will be this year? (Clue: a 3 day pass + paid entry to ME :p)

    Connie, is the hotel likely to get booked quickly or is there plenty of rooms? Also, I assume being Killarney there are plenty of alternatives available?

    Cheers

    Shouldnt be any problem booking the hotel and yes, there are loads of alternatives. End of April is into the start of our tourist season so thats as good a price as I could get.

    I'll add this into the Irish poker rankings as a festival. All 3 events will carry points. Trusting connie can give me the results.

    Cheap points for the Sunday game.

    Can you put my name down as well for ME. Try and score a few myself.

    Found room for 7 more tables in the club, so with the 7 tables already there thats 14 tables X 9 = 126 runners.

    No doubt we'll have a few drop-outs (but not the locals because they've all either paid in full or paid non refundable deposits). It is very important that if a boardie has his name in and for some reason cant travel, that he should let me know a.s.a.p.

    Any names I take from here on will be as reserves/alternates.

    Other than that, I'd have to consider 2 x day 1's :eek::eek:.

    Like some of ye're thoughts here. We've already taken enough names to fill the event (even by adding 7 tables to what we already have. And there is 15 names on the reserve list as of today with still nearly 2 months to go. The only way I can take more names is to give the event 2 x day 1's. I dont have a problem with doing this but I'd need to know that enough players would volunteer to play day 1a to make it work.

    Anybody got any thoughts on it?

    I would play day 1a.

    My ambition is to cycle around the Ring Of Kerry (nice scenery, friendly yokels, never rains ). :rolleyes: I could do the cycle on day 1b.

    It sounds good in principal but I have my doubts as to wether(sp) the players would be able to make it work cos of issues taking time off.

    Also Connie, as you well know at this stage, not everyone who puts their name down will turn up either. That said I would play 1a if it helps.

    Start collecting the money now to get a fix on the numbers. Give punters a "get your cash in by" date.

    Every local that has entered the tourney has payed a non refundable deposit. I'll be checking them out over the week-end and see how much interest is there in some of them playing day 1a.

    It sounds good in principal but I have my doubts as to wether(sp) the players would be able to make it work cos of issues taking time off.

    I understand some wouldnt be able to make thurs (1a), but if some could along with a lot of the locals who should be fine, then it could work out. I'll look into it anyway.
