TF Sandyford level of instruction - big rant

I was just up in TF in sandyford, while i was there, a young guy was getting a program from an "instructor".

i was just in shock at how un professional and uninterested this instructor was.

i only saw him teach 4 exercises, but not one of them was done right by the client, and he wasnt once corrected.

db bench press, client curls his head up on every lift, like a half sit up, and his feet arent on the floor, knees below hip height. the guy is a complete beginner. the whole time the guy was doing the exercise the instructor was watching the tv!!

db bent over row, back wasnt straight at all, neck was flexed forward so his chin was tucked into his chest, and his was flinging the weight up, again instructor watching tv throughout, waiting until he heard the client put the weight down to ask him how many reps he got.

upright row was more like a reverse curl once the bar reached his chest. instructor actually watched this time, but didnt say anything about it, told him his form was great.

this was supersetted with a machine lateral raise, in which the client couldnt raise his elbows to shoulder height cos of the weight, then the instructor increased the weight!!

not once did the instructor talk about breathing, or keeping your back straight or anything about form. he just showed, said off ya go, yeh thats grand.

as much as it pains me, i dont think the instructor would appreciate me saying anything to him directly.

ok big rant (not so big really) over.

anyway, i'm thinking of complaining to management, but will there be any point?

If you went to a mechanics and saw some guy not bothering to fit the brakes on someone else's car properly, what would you do?

To expect good instruction from ANY gym staff in any gym can be a lottery.

Best thing to do is talk to the guy who got instruction imo.

It's not supposed to be. It's a metaphor. If I wanted it to be the same, I would have said "If you were in the gym and saw some guy being poorly instructed, what would you do?".
