They are all really nicknames, they are not definitions, like a pint is 568ml.

I have heard the 350ml called shoulder, naggin, and my preferred "half bottle". Since most standard bottles are 700ml so it avoids confusion between the 200 or 350 sizes. I think in the trade "bottle" is a term meaning 700ml.

Many mistakenly think spirit bottles are usually 750ml, but that is wine.

I thought it was something bigger than a Naggin of Vodka. I dunno.

a flagin is a 750mls im pretty sure, it's all very irish and unnecessarily confusing.

of course its childs play until you start dealing in waggin and baggins

naggin is 200, flaggin or shoulder is 350, a bottle is 700, a litre is a litre and a flaggin is 2 litres..

the way we've always worked it.. the two different flaggins is never an issue if you can recognise a thing called context

A flagin of vodka is 350 ml, it is also called a shoulder, a half bottle and any one of 10 other nicknames.

A flagin of cider is a 2L bottle.

This from someone who was raised in a pub / off-license.

is there any names for 500ml apart from half-litre?

and is ireland the only place where ml is used way more than cl for measurement of drink?

I lived in Cork for years and we always called shoulders 'Supernaggins' or just plain old supers. Now I'm living in Dublin I'm constantly mocked for this :(

You can get a 3 litre bottle of Frosty Jacks for under £3, it's 7.5% strong aswell so if getting drunk is your intention it is quite effective.
