Basically eat as many calories as you can can daily, go for over 3,000. Doesn't have to be healthy food, some people even just eat loads of chipper food! And while your doing this start working out, in a gym or at home.

I don't think its possible to add 2lb a week, not unless a large portion of it is fat. If that's not true can someone please correct me. Op read the stickies at the top of the forum on nutrition for a guide to planning your eating habits.

2 steaks a day. with three eggs a day and fish for breakfast. while you're at it, some chicken at lunch and wash it all down with litres of low fat milk

Where are you getting that stone and a half figure from? If it's a BMI thing, ignore it. Forget weight altogether, just focus on getting to stage where ya look and feel good.

Milk and meat and fresh fruit and veg with some gym work or sports and you'll see benefits quickly. If not, add more of each :P

5'6 and 8 stone sounds about right to me..

I'm 5'11 and 10 stone on the dot... Haven't changed weight in 3 years.

Where are you getting the stone and a half figure?

I've gained 2lbs a week for a good while living on subway 5 days a week along with mass gainer, my waist size hasn't changed and I still have a flat stomach despite gaining around 24lbs and my diet is crap.
It can be done easily if ye put the work into the training

People mention things like low fat milk which I personally would not go near, everyones body deals differently with the food they take in

Its all relative. I'm at least an inch shorter and I couldn't bear to be 10 stone, I'd be a complete stick.

Eat a big bag of nuts a day, every day and see how you get on.

I will say though that every single person, without exception, who has ever said to me that they couldn't gain weight was seriously undereating in terms of their regular meals. Take the plunge there and throw up an average day.

I won't repeat what the others are saying, but analyse your diet to see if you're eating anything which is hindering your weight gain.

I discovered caffeine makes me lose weight (there's a reason people drink coffee to aid digestion!) and boozing makes me lose my appetite, especially if I'm hungover. So I cut out both caffeine and booze and I now find it fairly easily to put on weight.

I used to be quite skinny in my early 20's (5'9/5'10 and maybe 10 stone) and now I'm about 14 stone with little body fay.

    right here's mine. 5ft 10ish, 12.5 stone

    breakie:
porridge (made with water), add in raisins, honey and flaxseed

    morning break:
tea, 2 ryvita rye breads (maybe a biccie)

    Lunch:
two brown bread sandwiches with either tin of tuna, 2 boiled eggs or banana combo... some more ryvita (i'm addicted)

    snack:
banana, apple, orange, toast, nuts, raisins, ryvita (you seeing a trend here?) with philidelphia (mmmm), yougurt sometimes

    dinner:
pasta/spuds, carrots, broccoli, either 2 chicken breasts/striploin steak/2 round steak burgers/lamb chops. all cooked with steamer or the george forman - oh yes. nibble on apple, orange afterwards...

9pm or 10pm snack: toast or bran flakes with whole milk. or else nothing

I have to agree. That sounds a bit light. I was just over 6ft and 10.5 stone from a **** load of cardio training I was doing up until 6 months ago and at that weight I was like a rake. I am now a stone heavier and still bulking (putting on lean muscle) and I still need a nother stone in weight to feel comfortable in my apprearance. To the OP Staek and Eggs and full fat Milk are what you need. Obviously incorporating a hard work in the gym aswell.
