Neighbour Cut down tree on Side of Road

    Hi,

I live in a semi-detached house in a private housing estate. The housing estate has not been taken over by the council yet. There is a grass verge in front of my house which runs about the width my neighbors and mine houses. On this grass verge there were 2 trees. One directly in front of my garden the other in front of his. Last night my neighbor cut down the tree in front of his garden. It's in his back garden and it looks like he is cutting it up for fire wood.

I am pretty livid he did this. I talked to him today and he said that the tree was scrapping his car and also he didn't like the fact that the leaves fall off it. He then walked off on me.

I do not want him to get away with this. Just wondering what other people would do in this case?
    Thanks

The trees gone now and it ain't coming back. Do you want him punished for it? If not just drop it.

you can't even cut down trees in your front garden in most instances, call the council. I think our little tree hater might have some questions to answer

From now on, every night just before you go to bed, take a massive dump on his garden. Or his car.

Better still, scrape his car every night with some branches, write revenge of the tree on his bonnet.

Less likely to be kids around while he's operating the chainsaw. Seems sensible to me.

Take a shit in an envelope every morning and post it through his letterbox. Then you need to steal his wife and kids and lock them up in his car (which you will have scraped the f*ck out of beforehand) and drive car to Dublin port where you will deposit it on the nearest ferry.
Here comes the tricky part now: You wait untill he is at home alone sobbing about his family and car missing and his house smelling of your poo. Thats when you dress up as Chris Hansen and get all of your friends around and fake 'arrest' him for trying to solicit a 14 year old girl.
Then when you have him tied up in the back of your van you need to shave all his hair off until it body and head is completely bald.
Strip him naked and paint a giant bulls-eye on his chest and write "I Hate Knackers" on his back. Then drive the van to Ballymun and throw him out.

    You're welcome.

You Guys make me laugh but this is serious...

What I never said it that a neighbour across the road and down a bit did the same thing only the reason was so she could have an unobstructed view of to the previous owner of my house.

    This is Fooked up.

    What am I living around????

It's done, can't be undone, and is unlikely to be repeated again.
Only thing you can do is let it go.
It's not on your property so you had no rights or control over it.

But if it was "scraping" his car it sounds like he was parking on the kerb and not the road. Some "decorative" stones on your side of the grass might stop him from parking on your side of the grass.

Depends how big your front garden is......
The prohibition on the uprooting or cutting down of trees does not apply where:
    it is less than 100 feet from a dwelling other than a wall or temporary structure;
Tree laws in Ireland-- Legal requirements for tree felling.

I think you need to get to the root of this and create a neighbourhood branch against tree felling. And do it quick before the neighbours leaves no trees standing.

In the meantime plant a few apple seeds where the old tree was, a new one should sprout in 50 or 60 years... that will teach him!
