Where can I get a nice cheap replacement?

if yer in the city center at the weekend (sat eve/sunday anytime) you can have one of the new spares i have, just got one with my last order from universal nutrition (they currently give you a free one with orders over 50, info on their site)...

although the best shaker i have at the moment is from BioTech USA (they have them in their store in the Ilac Centre), screw top lid and cap, and the mesh filter / mixer is a pointed cone (not flat) so it really mixes well...

First things first is if the protein is of a good quality it will mix fast and easy with no froth in an ordinary plastic bottle.

The mixboy shakers are very common and should not cost too much - certainly under a fiver or free as stated above on some websites.

I stopped using those since I got a Magic Bullet. Best purchase I have made in a long time. Much easier to clean than those plastic grids they use in the shakers.

i bought a jug blender two years ago

get a good powerful one with glass jug(plastic stains ans scratches) mine is 750w but they have 1000 watt ones now

now i blend all my protein drinks and throw in a cup of oatmeal as well and a cup of milk

its so easy to drink and id never eat 3 bowls of oatmeal a day NEVER EVER!

those electric blenders must be fun to bring to the gym for those pre/post work out shakes ;) but yeah well handy at home, esp the hand held ones

not that big a deal to clean; warm running water = clean shaker mesh - then some milton every so often for a deep clean...

Next time you order stuff just ask the company for a freebie and say you'll swan around the gym with it showing off their logo. You might get lucky!

Yeah, the same one. Maybe I just got a bogey one, but the lid wouldn't stay closed on it meaning I couldn't put it in my bag.

At last somebody else who has one!, they are brilliant, you can put ice & milk in and get a really frothy tasty milk shake, better than some takeaway places. Can't recommend them enough, though the silicone seals were crap but you don't need them if you tighten hard.

I also make my oat pancakes in mine, liquidises the oats into a flour and with the mini cup you get no waste, (i.e. in a big blender half it ends up stuck to the sides & blades). You can just rinse it under the tap. Sometimes have them in dunnes for €40, they also sold them on ebay from spain for ~€45 incl. delivery.

Mine came with a juicer too, think mine is the amazing bullet, same thing really.

Last time i walked outside the changing rooms with one of those i walked straight into a group of 3rd years from my school, needless to say the uneduacated little brats started telling people i was taking steroids rofl.

My ones just one i picked up walking by the Tony Quinn shop in jervis, never have any lumps so i give it the thumbs up.

They come with tubes and cups that you can screw caps onto the end and carry around with you.

i have a magic bullet, and they are great :)

...but i don't pre-mix and carry my supplements - i shake and consume there and then... so it's a shaker for me when i'm not at home

my reasoning is mainly to ensure nothing in the mix degrades / affected by temp when travelling or where it is stored until taken... (and avoid the risk of a spill / leak in my kit bag too)
